for wayne county it says:

FOREIGN BORN (All Documents MUST be originals)

  • Valid Passport, in English or with certified and notarized English translation. Passport must have full date of birth (day, month and year).
  • Certified birth certificate, in English or with certified and notarized English translation. Certificate must contain full date of birth (day, month and year)
  • Valid I-94card attached to your passport. For person with refugee status, you must have the letter from your spouse that brought you into the U.S.
  • Valid Resident Alien Card / Valid Green Card.
  • Valid Work Authorization Card.
  • U.S. Naturalization Papers or Valid U.S. Passport, signed by holder.
  • Canadian citizens ONLY may use card sized birth certificates.

So my question is: Do i have to go to other counties or states to marry? Are there states or counties that doesnt allow to marry at their place?

You should have your fiancee inquire about that with the county clerk. I don't think you really need the work permit…because obviously you have to get married first to be able to apply for it. For all I know you just need to get a marriage license from the county in which you're planning on getting married. But like I said, have your fiancee inquire or call them directly to find out.

There is no way you will have all those things; you just need one of them (or maybe one and the BC).

You can get married in every state/county. Don't rely too much on websites for that; they are often not updated well or filled with misinformation.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

as you advised, we consulted an official from wayne county clerk office and we have been told, i will just need a translated passport and $150,- to get married Detroit downtown on a friday in a mass ceremony if wished LOOOOL

thank you for your answers and good luck in all your processes, maybe i will return one day and tell our story which is incredibly wonderful even if it has yet ( as i see in the forum) to counter all the VISA&documents&petition - obstacles. I am sure love is too strong to even get one small scratch from this, maybe it can even get very deep and safe after a long journey of trust, work, and miles.

Hey Mampfred76, greetings from one Baden-Wuerttemberger to another smile.png. My husband and I got married in Dearborn/Wayne County two years ago and it was no problem at all. I think we only needed our passports and perhaps our birth certificates. And it cost way less than $150.00, I think it was around $20.00 or so. Apart from that we needed two witnesses. At any rate I can recommend the courthouse in Dearborn, very pretty building and the judge who married us was really nice. Ich wuensche euch eine schoene Hochzeit, Nachbar smile.png. Let me know if we can help you with anything.

PS: I remember the thing with the translated passport. It cracked me up since our German EU passports are in German, English and European. There's nothing to translate no0pb.gif.
