So my case is in the netherworld between the CSC and the NVC. I had an NOA2 on April 24th.

It's been 16 days now, and the NVC hasn't recieved it, so I've sent in a research request. But I had also noticed that some people approved on the same date have already passed through the NVC. I wanted to know why, so I started researching Igor's list.

on the 24th, there were 39 approvals on Igor's list (there were about 350 at the CSC that day), so I've got a 10% sample.

Of those, 21 had gotten to the NVC, and 18 haven't, assuming that people are keeping their profiles updated.

I noticed a couple of things:

  1. it didn't seem to matter what country you were applying for. There were ones of the same country that were in and ones that weren't, though it seems that the Philippines were more likely to have been recieved.
  2. NO APPLICATIONS HAVE GOTTEN TO THE NVC AFTER MAY 10th that were approved on the 24th - This to me is the most worrysome piece of information. It's like half of them got there and were processed, and the rest have dissappeared. I would think they would keep coming in, but it's like everything just stopped on that day. From May 1st to the 10th, there were a few every day, then nothing.

I'm going to make some more calls in the morning, and I find this distressing.

Any thoughts on this from anyone else?

NVC received my documents from uscis on April 3, April 9 I called and was given assigned case number. On April 17, we received the instruction letter. April 25, we sent out the DS-230 package then my attorney forgot to submit the Supplemental Information Sheet for Guangzhou. (Luckily I called NVC and found out about that.) May 8, we sent out the information sheet. Tracking number shows that NVC received my package but when I called yesterday, still not in the system yet. I have to wait 20 business days.

Here is a link that you can check the status online for NVC. This is the newsletter I received from my attorney.

Visa Status Check Website Implemented

The DOS has implemented a “Visa Status Check” capability to its website. A visa applicant is able to check the status of his/her pending visa (whether immigrant or nonimmigrant) by case number. This innovation is a welcome tool for visa applicants who are unsure of the status of their case. The link is: https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx.

Well, after over an hour wait, I wasn't able to find out anything...they won't let me do a service request unless it's been over 30 days. Near as I can tell, it's still at USCIS.

From what I was told, basically once it's approved, the file is no longer updated. So you can't find out anything without a service request.ranting33va.gif

Was there any particular reason you chose not to OPT IN to the OPTIONAL NVC Electronic Processing for Guangzhou ?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

This is one of the MANY reasons to not use an attorney for this process unless you must due to special circumstances. Perhaps you can take some time in the forum for your location and discuss with others. Darnell can certainly help. I wonder if you might be able to take this step now?

Unfortunately this link won't help someone who does not yet have their case number. And it also does not always get updated. There are some people on the boards who have been approved ages ago but their status here never changed. I was fortunate enough to see mine updated consistently but this does not happen for everyone.

I'm going to be following all the ones from the 24th, and hopefully when they start moving, all of us will start moving together. I'll be posting when that happens.

Yes, I had seen that, and I ended up speaking to him about it on another thread... That was one of the reasons I started looking into this a lot more deeply.

Thing is, if a bunch of files were sent there accidentally, why wouldn't they just send all of them to the NVC when they found his?

ya, the GUZ IV P3 Supplemental is required, regardless if paper or electronic.

It's an ugly form.

My wife looked at it this weekend and laughed a lot.

re: not going electronic for Guangzhou - ask your attorney how many prior casefiles he prepped for Guangzhou, and ask him what he knows about the China Customs Warehouse in Guangzhou. Then let us know his responses?
