Stepchild visa requirements

Hello All,

I will be getting married soon and will be filing an I-130 for my wife and my step daughter. What supporting documents should I provide for my step daughter's application? My step

daughter's birth certificate does not mention her name. It only mentions her sex, her fathers name and her mothers name. It is a cultural practice in India to not name kids immediately after they are born. I am very concerned about this birth certificate.

Cant they add her name in India, if its the custom the US embassy would know,

but in the meantime send it in as such, and work in the meantime in adding her name

as it will be required at NVC (original)

Actually a copy of the child's birth certificate is needed for the I-130. It may receive an RFE so getting the birth certificate in order ASAP would be my recommendation.

Try to get new birth certificate with child's name or

U can get it translated & mentioned child's name in it & also get it notarised.

I had same problem with my birth certificate . What I did was I got it translated and mentioned my name in it . It worked properly .
