What to bring to interview?

NVC has all the required documents and will be sending them on to the Consulate. I'm just wondering what back-up we should bring. We live together in Ecuador, so I don't need to prove visits and phone/email communication.

I'm planning to bring the following: Marriage, divorce, and birth (us and kiddos) certificates, pictures, financial docs, joint accounts, current police record, U.S. based job offer, medical exam

Anything else? I could bring a copy of every single document that we submitted to NVC, but I don't know if that is necessary.

Thanks!

A boat load of pictures. That's your proof. Also, receipts for rent or mortgage, or an affidavit of a living arrangement if you lived with family.

That sounds good. Make sure you bring 2012 taxes. Also, the consulate will email you once they receive your case, and you should print off that email so you can present it at the door with your hubby's passport sized photos.

So what about all the forms and things that have already been submitted? Bring copies of all that stuff?

I've made copies of absolutely every single piece of paper we've submitted throughout the entire process (paranoid much? blush.png ) and I'm going to take it, just in case, along with original copies of all the civil documents we submitted in the NVC stage. I know for a fact they ask for an updated version of the PCC, so definitely get that. I'm leaning on the overcautious side, just in case. good.gif

When and where are you guys doing the medical?

What's the PCC? Police Record?

I think there is only one doctor in Guayaquil, right? Either way, my husband is in charge of that I know he has called them.

Somebody has got to be the control freak in the relationship. It appears that myself and Part IV, are the freaks in our relationships hehehe. I advise you to know the process inside out, be on top of your husband so that nothing is forgotten. I know I knew everything my then fiancée was supposed to do.

I'm the control freak, too! But it's his medical exam and he's a big boy! Honestly, I trust him with one or two things and the rest is in my hands!

So, what's the PCC?

Also, we live together, so I get to annoy him about it every day!

I'm not sure, I've never used that acronym. But it sure does sound like the police certificate. If I remember correctly, my wife's police certificate was only valid for three months, so she got it close to the interview.

Here on VJ, people have said that the consulates honor police certificates up to a year old. That may be, but I sure as hell was not risking that in Guayaquil. Don't leave anything to chance in Guayaquil. Better to over prepare and dot the I's and cross the T's. You don't want them to hold the smallest thing against you.

OK, the PCC is the Police Record - I just looked it up! Luckily Ecuador makes it so easy now!

Yep! PCC - Police Clearance Certificate.

Also, if you're interested I posted a review of the medical I did yesterday with hubby - like fanton said, bit of a control freak. whistling.gif

if the police certificate that you submitted with the ds-230 is still valid you don;t need another one right? i have a copy and they have a copy, still valid for a few more months. is it 2 passport photos the beneficiary needs to bring? they already have all our original documents. i will have my landlord write another affidavit saying a year after applying the 2 of us are still living together at her residence as before. can you bring a usb drive or burned disk with pictures or do i need to print them? i sent some printed pics originally with the i-130. interview is in 1 week.

Our consulate requires an updated police certificate, regardless of whether the one you submitted is still valid, I guess to make sure you haven't committed any crimes between then and now. It depends on the consulate/embassy how many passport pictures you have to take - sometimes it's two, sometimes it's three. No, you can't take a USB or a CD with pictures, so you'll have to print them.

Good luck at your interview!
