I had a question and hope someone kindly please help.

the I-130 has bee approved, and transferred to NVC, I called a week ago, the operator told me the case number #GUZXXXX, and she said I should receive a package from them.

I never received any package from NVC, also in the phone, I forgot to ask for the bill number. Just had no clue about the whole process.

Then I did some research about electric processing online, it's optional for Guangzhou consular.

at this moment, what should I do next?

1) should I call them again to ask for bill number? if they tell me a bill number, should I start to do online payment? I don't know when the package will arrive.

2) Or should I write email to OPTIN electrical processing? but I also heard for Guangzhou, you shouldn't optin EP before something I forgot.

1) and 2), which one should I do first?

i'm so confused now. your advise would be appreciated. thanks

This is where I was stuck with:

For China/GUZ applicants: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO OPTIN PRIOR TO RECEIVING THE DS-3032 EMAIL FROM NVC. DOING SO WILL CAUSE A SEVERE DELAY

how does NVC have my email address without me OPTIN the electric filing first?

i couldn't understand it, please help.Thanks NikiR,

re: yer question.

Gotta use a telephone, talk with the NVC TeleOperator,

give over email addresses on the petitioner and beneficiary, live, over the telephone,

then wait a few days.

That first phone call, where you give over (successfully) the email addresses,

is the trigger that starts everything.

other hint - change yer country to China in yer profile, so other China Gurus will find you in the China Portal.

Aha, I should tell them the email addresses over the phone call.

I make one phone call so far, the operator gives out my case number which is GUZ...., then I thanked her and said good bye. :) since I had no clue what to ask next.

so I should call them again, to ask the IIN#, as well as giving them the email addresses, then wait for a few days for the bill, yeah?

thanks very helpful, will let you know how things going.

last friday I called them, giving out email addresses. Then I asked for IIN#, the operator sounds completely no clue, and responded 'don't know'.

My agent sent an OPTIN email last week ( without me knowing), so today I received in email about OPTIN accepted email from NVC. nothing else, just a new case number starting GZO.

now I'm worried my case wil be hugely delayed, so far no fee bills recieved in email or paper, only a case number. is that normal?

i have all my documents ready, just waiting to submit, but without the bill I guess I can't submit anything.

any thoughts?

getting a gzo number is ok.

when you talk to NVC again, ask for

Invoice Identification Number, and not IIN.

They have it, just need that thingie.

since you not email anything yet except the opt in thing,

is ok for now.

you have gzo #, you need IIN , so get the IIN,

then log in at the payment portal and pay something, using GZO and IIN.

but - when you log in and see nothing to pay, is good sign that NVC not generate invoice yet.

that's ok too - just wait a bit.

for now, get the IIN, asking for 'Invoice Identification Number' from NVC TeleOperator, and go forth with logging in at the payment portal.

It took some time from 'give over email addresses' to 'AOS FEE BILL received in email inbox'. For me, it was right at 7 days.
