Text message from USCIS today

Hi guys!

We are applying for CR1 Visa, and from NBC it has been sent to Philadelphia local office like two months ago. Then a week ago, we got a Senator involve in our case.

Today, we got a text message from the USCIS saying:

On May 16, 2013, your address was changed relating to the I130, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN that you filed. Please check our website at www.uscis.gov for further updates on your case. Please wait until the end of normal processing time before calling customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for live assistance.

But we never requested to make changes on our address.

Our question is:

1. Is it possible that our papers has been rerouted to NBC or to another office?

2. Or is it possible since we have senate on our case if they changed address because of that.

We have been trying to get a hold of Tier 2 but the system is unavailable and it hanged us up.

Is there anyone here that has situation like us?

Folks, it is possible that on review of your case a supervisor discovered that something had been entered incorrectly, and fixed it. I would ordinarily assume that you are going to get a decision soon, since your case was looked at, but after 3.5 months out it is probably just a "touch". They don't have sample letters for every event that might happen to your file. Call the USCIS and make sure they have not changed your address incorrectly.

Thanks Speedwell, we got a text a hour later saying we were approved, should we still be concerned with the change of address issue? i guess it would'nt hurt to call and ask?

Do call and make sure all's well before the file gets transferred to the NVC.

Congrats, so happy for you. We are December fillers and still waiting. So senator involving is worked, we were just sitting and waiting our turn so as i see we have to do something , infopass or involve congressman or senator.. everybody who did that got approved

People ordinarily involve Congresscritters and Senators when they think something is wrong with their case. If you are within normal processing times (6 months currently) and you have no other reason to believe something went wrong, then you should be OK. Do definitely contact them if you believe something is wrong that you can identify. Otherwise they will not know what to do for you and their status check will just get "we're working on it".

Be careful assuming that everyone who bugged a representative got approved. Remember that people contact a representative because something is wrong. These cases are more likely to be difficult. Contacting someone is not the automatic road to approval.

Hi, I asked my congressman to follow up on an expedite request for my family's I-130s. I got the same address change notification for 2 out of the 3 I-130s yesterday around 4pm EST. I hope to get an approval soon.
