Hello there,

I submitted my immigrant visa application in US Consulate in Johannesburg in July 2012 and was given a given a green form 221(g) after the Interview from the Consular officer indicating that my wife who is the US citizen petitioner to file her 2011 US income tax return for the most recent year and bring proof of its filing which I did in 4days and returned there and gave them the said proof of filing. I was told that they will contact me to know when to pick up my visa and up till now, my passport is still with the consulate, yet no visa and I was recently told from my case worker that am on Administrative processing. I did what I was instructed and up to 10months now no decision. Is there any step I should take to compel them look into my file?

I will appreciate your contribution and many thanks

Best regards

We need more information as to how the interview went and how to advise you further. I also had to submit tax returns after the interview and then wait for a month for my visa, apparently complications with my fingerprints. 10 months is a long time, Is there some other information that may have caused a red flag? What sort of IV did you apply for?

The interview went well on the Visa application date considering that our 1-130 petition was approved under a week of which both me and my wife were interviewed. We did Direct Consular filing at the same Embassy. I did apply for IR-2 because our marriage is over two years old at the time of applying for the Visa.We live in Johannesburg. What are your thoughts?
