Full Price Airfare for Toddler ?

We check some airfares today with my hubby for the vacation we are planning on January. Ticket range about 1300.00 to $1500.00. Our daughter is only 16 Months old right now. Her Birthday is January 7th, and we are planning to fly on January 4th. So our daughter is exactly 2 Years Old by the date of our flight. We've read that the booking of the flights for toddler is all depend on the Airlines rules and policy. Thought before my husband call the airlines and book a flight I want to know or hear some personal experiences first from others...

Hoping someone can share some more informations and your experiences. Thank you all in advance !

Kids usually fly a little cheaper, both my son 7 years and my daughter 1 year gets a discount. But you can also chose to have your kid in your lap ( until they are 2 years old) and then you only pay a very small amount. Most airlines will give you a kids discount but its not always possible to get it when booking online,sometimes you have to call in and book it.

You need to go by the airline rules.

Example, Philippine Airline

Passengers under the age of two and at least 16 days old. Infant not occupying a seat gets 90% discount based on the accompanying adult’s fare. Birth certificate is required when buying the ticket.

The airline sells seats, the size of the butt occupying it doesn't matter (well ... can't say that anymore as some airlines are getting picky on butt size too... )

I called delta and they told me my 16 month old son could share a seat with my fiance, but it will be a 10% charge onto her ticket. so you may need to just call the airline directly.
