Okay, so I have been out for a while, because we were waiting on extra documents and waiting on our case complete. Now, we have an interview for June 4th. So, I am super excited. I wanted to go, but it is at the beginning of June, I could have went at the end of June, since I will be in Australia then, I could have flown over, but I do not want to postpone it just because I want to be there. So, I am keeping my fingers crossed, and hoping my sweetie does good. He went in to see the doctor, the doctor said he see people coming through all the time, and as long as we had a good traditional style Sri Lankan wedding, we should be fine and just show our pictures.

One other thing, I cannot update my time line. Help please? It keeps telling me that my email address for updating my timeline is wrong and contact an administrator.

Nice to see a person for Sri Lanka responding to my post. I received the case complete on May 8th and on May 10th they sent me an email about my interview. But they had my documents for a while, I was just missing a police report so they gave me a case complete and just asked us to submit it to the embassy.

Thanks.. Nice to hear from you. we would have had case complete on 4/29 had I not send in the originial SL birth certificate for my husband. So it took another two weeks for them to review it. I guess I would already have a interview date if not for that. Any ways I have contacted NVC like everyday asking about interview date... Still nothing.... Except one guy told me that all the dates for june is booked for Colombo. I find that kind of hard to believe. I am just anxious to get this done.

Yes I can understand this. There are no reviews of the American Embassy in Colombo that are useful. I wish there were some spouse interviews posted on here but I only found one fiancé visa review. I cannot find any on Google. I do not know what to expect.

OMG!!!!!! I am so freaking angry but excited at the same time. So, I lived in Sri Lanka before returning back to the U.S. so I had to find a job. The first part of 2012 I did not work. I meet the household poverty line however since my 2012 taxes does not reflect this, they gave us a 221g for the poverty guidelines. I am sooo angry. I do not understand why NVC did not tell me this. I called them and they were like "ow, it is left up to the Embassy whether or not they will accept this." So I was up on the phone at 4.00 this morning talking to the embassy. So now, I have to find a sponsor for the my husband. My mom agreed to do it so we are working on getting things together now. Urghhhhh!!!!!!!!!!

My husband is taking a nap. Once he wakes up he will tell me about the interview. He said they asked him many questions over and over again. He was interviewed by a Chinese guy. He said the guy talked so fast he finally had to ask for a translator because he could not understand the guy's English. So be prepared for that. I do not know how good your husband is with understanding other people's English accent, but I knew my husband would not understand, but I thought the guy would at least show the common courtesy of slowing down. urgghhhh!!!!!!!

We submitted everything yesterday. So, we are in administrative review. We will see what happens.

Make sure you do interview trials with your husband every day and teach him how to answer directly. I had a huge problem with teaching my husband how to answer a question directly, nothing more nothing less.
