My first post today, anyone else from Romania on K1 their journey?

Our NOA2 came on Feb 11... now waiting for the NVC to receive our file and give us a case number.

I'm wondering at what stage can I schedule the interview? Can I simply call the Consulate after I get my case number? Or do we have to wait for our case to arrive in Bucharest and then their instructions in the mail?

Hey,

Congrats on your NOA2. I see they are moving really fast now, which is awesome!

You need to wait for the case to arrive at the Consulate, then the instructions and once the beneficiary sends back the instructions signed, then you can call for scheduling the interview. Once the case gets to the Consulate, everything should move faster

I'm the beneficiary btw, I wonder if I can call and get an appointment for the medical before I get the packet, like as soon as I get an NVC case number and confirmation that the file has been sent to Bucharest.

Buna! I'm (or was ) the beneficiary as well

As far as I know, at Regina Maria you can schedule the appointment whenever you want, you don't need the NVC case number or any confirmation. That's where I did my medical and the staff is really nice.

I received my NOA2 on February 14 and hard copy on February 22. When should I start contacting NVC to see if they received my case? Is it better through email or phone?

Hey, congrats on your NOA2!

In our case, my husband (back then, my fiance) contacted NVC after 1 week. It usually take 1-2 weeks before you can contact them and give you a BCH case number. I think it's better to contact them through phone, it's faster

Yes just completed Ds-160 form with my fiancé and he will be calling the consulate tomorrow to schedule the interview. I have pretty much all the documents needed for the interview he just needs to do his medical

Do you know by any chance if the DS-160 form has to be fill out and send back imediately? I'm waiting for income tax return from my fiance, and i haven't fill out ds-160.

he received packet 3 last wednesday and we just did DS-160 a week after that. You don't need your income tax return to fill out DS-160. After that you just have to email the confirmation page to the embassy with a copy of the passport so you can schedule your interview. when are you planning to to do your interview?

My worrie was that, the income tax return from my fiance will take a litlle longer, possible 2 weeks. In that case, i just needed to be sure that once ds-160 is fill out and send back to the embassy, does not have a time limit.

I received some answers here, and i think its ok to fill out even if i'm wating for income tax return.

Planning for interview as soon as possible, 1 2 weeks top if its possible once i have everything.

We are trying to figure out how many Romanian-American couples are there applying for a K1 visa at the US Embassy in Bucharest

Also me.

I just fill up ds-160 and send it to the embassy, now waiting for tax return from my fiance, and got to go to my doctor to give me vaccine history.
