Dears

I need your help.

I applied for green card lottery in DV-2013 and DV-2014 and I didn't win, and also I applied 1 year ago for B2 visa and it's refused under section 214(B).

I am preparing this month to apply for B2 visa and I just want to ask you:

1. Is entry ingreen card lottery will affect b2 visa?

2. In DS-160 there is a question:

Has anyone ever filed an immigrant petition on your behalf with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services?

What should I answer yes or no?

Please advice me.

Thank you so much for your help.

Ok, looks like your refussal was because you did not demonstrate strong ties to your home country? Is this correct?

What has changed? You have a green card lottery applicaiton, you were already denied a tourist visa, why the need to go to the US so badly?

good luck

Dear,

The consulate officer was so nervous with me with out any reason, I think she refused me because I am Syrian and in my country we have so much problems but I am resident of UAE from more than 3 years.

For the lottery I received many email for more than 10 years from many websites and I didn't care until somebody called me from France and he told me we have offer now 1 free year and it's great to live and work in US...., he spoke to me for 30 mins and then I agree to enter the lottery.

Actually I want to visit USA for tourism last year because I got invitation from my cousin to celebrate for her new son, and this year I want to visit USA for tourism I visited Paris and Rome from 50 days and I want to visit New York and Florida then I will go again to Rome because I spent 2 days only there.

Can you please answer my questions:

1. Is entry in green card lottery will affect B2 visa?

No one has applied for you. You entered a lottery. You have never won. No need to mention it. The answer to the petition question is no as far as the lottery is concerned

Thank you.

So I can try B2 visa again without any problems.

You can apply as many times as you want, there is nothing that stops you from applying, if the visa is granted or not is another story.

There are few things in your story that do not add up, main key criteria for tourist visa is no immigrant intent and ability to show strong ties to your home country.

In your case you have filed twice for lottery which demonstrates you have immigrant intent, now to overcome that immigrant intent would be really difficult.

Also no one calls you to apply for the lottery, so no idea who called you and whom you shared your details with or whom you paid any fees if you paid any.

The main issue is showing ties to UAE, wife children, whatever that shows your need to return.

I am going to guess it is going to be difficult for a Syrian to obtain a Tourist Visa for obvious reasons.

Thanks for your reply.

Actually I am engaged now and I'll marry soon.

For Syrian it's so difficult to get a visa to any country but I got shengen visa 2 months ago and I went there for 4 days and came back to UAE.

I love USA and I just want to visit it but because I am Syrian it's so difficult for me to get the visa and I don't know what to say to the CO in the interview, I have only 1 or 2 mins.

What you think I have to say in 1 min?

It is a scam site.

dvlottery.state.gov is the real one.
