Error in Green Card

The name in my Green card is misspelled and USCIS has said that I had to replace it. I was wondering do I need to have my biometrics redone even though it is their error? This is a concern for me because I will be temporarily leaving the US to study for college.

Another concern I have is that the have combined my first and middle name and I thought this was normal at first but when I went to the SSA they told me about this. Will filling for an I-90 correct this information?

If you select on the I-90 to have your card reissued due to a USCIS error then there will be no charge for it.

Biometrics, once captured, are usually valid for 15 months. Provided you have had biometrics taken within the past 15 months then they will hopefully be used when it comes to issuing your corrected green card and you won't have to go and have them taken again.

To have your name corrected you would need to submit a document that showed your name as you wish it to be shown on your green card (taken from an ID card, birth certificate, etc.).

So will the biometrics taken at the POE count?

Do I need to submit a separate form or will the I-90 filed to replace my green card correct this information?

You will only submit one I-90 that has all of the correct information on it.

I am unsure as to whether the biometrics captured at PoE will count or not.
