Which is quicker to petition for:-

1-Un married adult DAUGHTER of PERMINENT RESIDENT. or

2-Un married adult SISTER of US CITIZEN ?

and how much time it takes???

1. F2b category - LPR petitioning unmarried daughter over 21 - about 7 years.

2. F4 category - USC petitioning a sibling - 12 years.

F4 is also scheduled to be eliminated in the Senate's version of their comprehensive immigration reform legislation.

I'm not sure whether all petitions already approved would be able to still be used, or all F4s would just be wiped out.

Immigration reform is not a definite. The debate has barely started. 8 Senators does not make the rules for the entire Congress. Congress will debate, make changes, or could fail to reform immigration.

Elimination of the F4 is a possibility. A final bill could preserve the F4 category.

Until the President signs a final bill, elimination of the F4 is only a possibility. It's not a definite.

This is my attempt at a civics lesson for those who may not fully understand that the current immigration bill is just a proposal an can change significantly in the coming months.
