Hi all, i just came back from interview and it went smooth. The IO is a lady and she didn't asked much, she just asked first time we met, when and where & asked my husband about my birthday, my parents, bro / sis

And asked to give her some of proof of evidence from our relationship. Even she didn't asked my original birth certificate just passport and i gave her my EAD/ AP card and she asked about my update medical record and it's good because i did new medical checkup because i just worry that they could ask about the update one

my question are :

1. she mentioned about removal condition that we can do it online >> is this a common thing for IO to tell us ? or is this mean i have to fill this I-751 online because my AOS was more than a year to get process?

2. She didn't take my EAD/ AP card, but she did take my I-94 form, so what does it mean? she just said we can check our status online and if it's more than 2 months we get nothing so we have to call them back

Does it mean we get approve but she just didn't tell us know? i just check on the website, the status now :

Can you reformulate your question? Your EAD/AP combo card is now void, it was just a temporary document until a decision was made on your AOS case. You can keep your EAD/AP as a souvenir, or destroy it (what my IO told me at the time). Your green card will be your work and travel authorizations.

It is normal that the IO took your I-94.

Don't forget to file for removal of conditions before the expiration of your green card (check on it when you receive it). It doesn't matter that your AOS took more than a year to be processed. Your first day of permanent residency status is the day of your approval. As Harpa said, you can't file the I-751 online. Maybe she meant that you can find the form online instead? As most of the forms, you will have to print it and mail it.

Thank you Didopage, yes my EAD/AP is a combo card and because i haven't have any state ID because first time i came here i didn't directly process SSN and when i wanted so, it's already too late so now i can make an State ID & SSN ( that's what my lawyer said so ) while waiting my GC coming

as i read and asked from some friends, yes most they took the I-94

Yeaa for removal condition later, i will just doing it by myself, save more money not hire a lawyer :)

so now i can make an State ID & SSN ( that's what my lawyer said so ) while waiting my GC coming

I recommend that you wait for your green card in the mail (should be in a week or 2) before going to apply for a State ID or SSN. Let me tell you why:

- SSN: you have to let the SSA know about any immigration status change. If you go now with your EAD card, they will issue you a card with a note "valid for work only with DHS (=EAD) authorization". You will have to go back to the SSA with your green card to update your card because your immigration status changed (permanent resident). Best is then to wait for your green card so you will make only one trip. Plus the SS card when you are a permanent resident has no work mention on it, just your name and SS#.

- DL: I see that you live in California. If you go to apply for a DL/state ID now with your EAD, they will issue you a DL/ID valid only until the EAD expiration date, which is one year. If you wait for your green card, and apply for a DL/ID with it, you will receive a DL/ID valid much longer.

Your green card is in the mail, it should come very soon so wait for it and it will make your other administrative tasks much simpler and easier. smile.png

Not adding to the fact that your EAD/AP is now void, so the SSA/DMV may encounter a problem when checking with the DHS system.
