Hello everyone. I would just like to know would it be possible for my cousin to petition or get a yaya (maid) here in the US? We have a maid in the Philippines who has been working with my family for almost 20 years and my cousin wants to bring her here so she can help out with the kids. Would this be a difficult process? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

Sorry, that is not the way US work visas work. If you choose to leave PI then the US assumes you will support the US economy

99% of US citizens cannot legally bring a domestic employee to the US on any type of visa...only if that citizen is subject to frequent and regular overseas assignments and does not, on average, spend more than about 4 years working consecutively in the US....which generally applies to foreign service employees and perhaps a few employees from a handful of international corporations....but for the everyday Joe and Jane, no.

The only Filipino I know who was successful in bringing a yaya/maid in the US as a domestic helper was Sharon Cuneta.

If you have a company in the US, you could hire her as a personal assistant and get an employment based visa. It is although very unlikely, since you would have to proove that no American is able to do her job. But if you have a couple thousand dollars to spend, you could try it.
