NOA1 can take up to a few weeks usually, and NOA2 can take up to 5 months to a year depending on your service center and visa. Our case was processed in 7 months which is typical for Vermont, although some people are saying it's taking longer now. After NOA2 the NVC will send you a letter saying telling you which embassy your case has been sent too, and then the embassy will send you a letter inviting you to make your interview appointment. We started our process in the end of august last year and have our visa in hand now. The whole process took about 10 months. Best of luck.

Hi,

My online status says "At this time USCIS cannot provide you with information for your case. Please contact the NCSC 1 (800) 375-5283 for additional information." What this means?

Please Help!!

I am having the same issue... it has been for 4 days that way now. Hoping approval is right around the corner!

Did you guys get a reply today? We did and it says they have send a letter asking for more info i am hoping this is a mistake and they sent an approval message.

First it will be sent to you in the mail. I sent in the G1145 which is an e-notification and they sent me a text and email letting me know about the approval. On the USCIS you login to your guest account and check your status, where your case appears you can click for an email or text notification as well. If not, you'll have to either call USCIS to ask, or just wait for the letter to come in the mail. ours came about 7-10 days after we were notified electronically for the approval. Best of luck

Mine never had any status like that the entire time. It didn't have any status until I got the NOA2. I also only got an email and text on the NOA1, never received one for the NOA2.

You can call the USCIS service center and ask for a tier two rep to ask the status of your file. Tier one only sees the same information as the status website.

1. The USCIS case-status system is notoriously unreliable. The long-time VJ member Gary and Alla will tell you that his K-1 status still said "pending" for some months after his wife became a U.S. citizen.

2. An immigration officer at USCIS once told me that if everyone's case status were updated every time anything happened, it would crash their computer system.

Accordingly, be pleased when something shows up on your case status, and be unconcerned when it doesn't.

For what it's worth, I never bothered with the thing after tinkering a little with it at the start of the wife's AOS/EAD/AP process.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Ours now says they need more evidence from us but i am yet to receive the letter that was sent out on the 16th, I can't wait to get the letter and send them what they need but what will happened now? How long will it take for us to hear back from them?
