In the package 3 says that my fiance has to show an Appointment Letter (or Appointment Confirmation) the day of the interveiw (which was scheduled for the June 5, 2013). She already has completed all the documents (forms, medical exam, evidences, etc.) and also she has the date of the interview, but do NOT has "La Citacion" (Appointment Letter or Appointment Confirmation)

I have called three times where I setup the appointment and they said they do not send me any Appointment Letter to anyone. All information about interview date and hour is only verbal.

For nearly two weeks we have been calling or sent emails to the US Interesets Section in Havana, but still we could not communicate with them.

1 - Please, I would appreciate any ideas on what to do in this situation ...

2 - Any applicant or petitioner in the U.S. Interests Section in Havana knows if this
Appointment Letter is a requirement in order to have the interview the day that was scheduled?.

Yes, the appointment was scheduled by phone...in Havana it is the only way for scheduling an appoitment:

How to Apply for a Nonimmigrant Visa

Family members and associates in the United States call our Visa Information and Appointment Scheduling Service from anywhere in the U.S., toll-free at 1-866-374-1769 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. (Eastern time), Monday-Friday on behalf of the applicant in Cuba.

Family members and associates in the United States can also obtain visa information at this number. Callers pay a nominal fee to speak with English and Spanish-speaking operators. First time applicants can expect a wait time of more than a year for an appointment.

How does the service work?

To use the service, family members or associates in the U.S. call 1-866-374-1769 to purchase a Personal Identification Number (PIN). PINs can be purchased for $11 USD using Visa or MasterCard. The PIN allows the caller to access the service multiple times for information and appointment scheduling for up to a total of 8 minutes. The PIN is nonrefundable. In the event it is lost the family member or associate must obtain a new one. If the time allowed for the PIN runs out, the caller must obtain a new PIN and call the service again. Up to 5 immediate family members residing in the same household may be scheduled on one call using one PIN. Immediate family members include: husband, wife, son, daughter, brother, sister, mother and father. Please note there is no guarantee that all family members will be scheduled for the same day.

my fiancé (now husband) did not have an appointment paper. Show up early and they will read your fiancé's name. Read the reviews for Cuba so you know how the system works when you line up early in the park near the Interest Section. He did not have a paper.

You can perhaps confirm the appointment via email direct with Havana. There is an email address on the website. (we didn't do that though). I asked them some question over email (I forgot what now, to be honest) - put the HAV case number in the subject line) and put Petitioner: Name Beneficiary: Name

at the top of your email and then ask your question. They answered my email within a week.

Good luck!

Hi-

You don't need the appointment letter. I know it would give you peace of mind to have it but don't worry. Just show up to the park on the date you were told. We showed up at like 5:30 AM. They start assigning numbers at around 5:45. The K-1 visas were the last so we were really sweating but everything worked out!

Good luck!

While it is not necessary to have an appt letter on the day of your interview, I would have the US fiance call a week ahead of time and confirm the appropriate DAY AND DATE of the interview. We were told twice July 16, but when my fiance showed up this morning, they told him that his interview was yesterday. He never receive a confirmation call (like another person told me her fiance received about a week ahead of time), nor did I receive an confirmation number or email. Make sure when you set up the appt, you ask DAY AND DATE so that hopefully you don't have happen to you like what happened to us this morning.
