cute, and for this , won't matter. there are other OSS thingies that have neither, ya know.

Of course, but by that I mean, there are GPL licenses which mean the people who modify the drone source code will have to redistribute their changes for free... this will probably lead to 3d-printed drones and whatnot.

If they BSD (or similar) license it, the greedy evil companies can use the source code to make proprietary versions, making it no longer open source, if they so please. You know, so Drone X, Droneix, and BeDrone can all fight it out in the proprietary market.

Ok, we'll make it open source like Android. And you will be able to fly your drone with your smartphone. But only with Jelly Bean forward.
