Hello all,

I have been selected for further processing in the DV Lottery 2014 and I am currently in the US under an OPT Visa (F1 Visa work authorisation visa). Does anybody know if I have to follow the same process as people oversees such as filling out forms DSP 122 and DS 0230? It says on the website that I can apply for an adjustment of status through USCIS but they don´t give much information about it (if any). This is the info they give:

Diversity visa selectee already in the United States >> When the principal (primary)

diversity visa selectee is already physically present in the U.S., you may be eligible to apply to

the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services for adjustment of status. Click Adjust Status to

learn more.

Once you click on the Adjust Status link, there´s no relevant info on how to proceed with the adjustment of status.

Thanks for your help.

You need to be in the US when/if your number becomes current. The bulletin show the nexts months cut off number. If your number never gets current you won't get a visa. They overdraw to allow for people that don't proceed or don't really qualify.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

But in case your number gets current and it is close to the end of the year, you might have the risk of losing your Greencard, because the AOS could take too long... If you didnt receive your greencard by the end of the year you will lose yours. So If you have a high case number, you should rather go home when the number is current and have the normal processing at the embassy.

you click that link, the own in your question...then the link that says adjustment of status fees...then fill out the form below and send your applicable fee...which you will find out through clicking the Diversity Visa Lottery fee amount link. Then wait your receipt from the DV. While your waiting proceed to the AOS instructions on the USCIS page, which will guide you through the form, medical exam, finger printing. The form number might be I-485 depending on your situation. The USCIS has there own separate fees. They also will not start really processing for the DV lottery until Oct. Hope that helps. Bring your receipt to your interview, along with a copy of any other applicable docs.
