With all due respect, but if his parents wont help and his friends also wont help, why would a stranger take that responsibility?

Hope you will find a solution for your problem.

I am in shock!!! How come Wein's parents told you that it is your own problems!! I do not believe in this! R u looking for an outside sponsor?? you think someone will take responsibilities for your finance status? are you sure your marriage is real? Sorry for the questions, but my husband's parents are my second parents, they will never say "no" to us. Moreover, sponsor need just sign few papers that is it.

It is the sole responsibility of the petitioner to take care of the beneficiary. There's no law that automatically puts the same responsibility to the petitioner's parents/relatives/friends. If they want to help, that's good, but if not then move on to the next relative or friend, if no one wants to be your joint sponsor then find a second or third job. People who refuse to be a joint sponsor has the right to do so.

Get a job and stop soliciting people here. This is against the rules. You have to be absolutely crazy to stick your neck out for someone you don't even know. Immigration is a priviledge.

Ok people calm down... :) I was just asking about help, this sir told me how to, then not asking for joint sponsor. Don't worry. And yeah, there's lot of things people is not agree with. Excuse me if I've offended someone with my topic, move on ;)

What kind of qualification does he have? The market is looking up right now esp. technology and it will be better for him to man up and get a job. Even if it takes 2 to 3 months to find one. Depending upon his degree he can get something that will pay WAY more than the minimum poverty guidelines. Not to mention the I-864 paperwork will be so much less complicated. In fact USCIS likes it that way. I technically make more than my husband, but a lawyer told us specifically the less complicated thing to do was for him to show he made enough, not that I made more. Also do YOU have assets income and other things? Showing them that you have the monetary assets to take care of yourself here in the states, might help too. Asking total strangers, even if there is one dumb/kind hear-ted enough to help you, is just tacky and I think adds to to a whole new level of complications with the government.

Thanks for your comment. We are on the track. And yes, I do... But how will it help? Because I understand the officer said it doesn't matter how much I make here in my country or assets I have, is somewhat independent.

Really? I guess its different when you are out of the country than when you do AOS. The I-864 does has a section where the immigrant can mention how much assets they have if the USC doesn't meet the requirements. Usually showing the difference. It should be cash assets though and not necessarily a paycheck. I guess if they said you can't use it, then you can't. Tough. Tell him to get a job. Any job, even if it is flipping burgers.

I swear - something's amiss. Just graduated and DID NOT make time at the job placement center the final two semesters on the degree plan? What's going on ?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Really? What country have you been living in? US? New grads the past few years ( since the economic global recession) always have had a hard time to find jobs suited to their qualifications. Not many companies hire newbies. And this is in STEM. I can't imagine what the market is like for someone with an Arts degree or something general like philosophy. The market just recently started swinging upwards. I know ALOT of MBAs with experience who were jobless until recently. Or underemployed. Heck when I graduated many of my friends with PhDs didn't get jobs until a good 4 months after graduation. This was after spending months interviewing. This was 2007 when the market started bloating and starting to burst.

There is nothing "amiss" about his situation. It's a reality. But I do think this couple rushed to the interview room too soon.
