Do i need to bring from my country my birth certificate translated by someone authorized by the consulate or i need to translate it in the US?

The translation can be performed anywhere by someone is is competant in both the native language and English.

A friend can do that, just by stating "I certify that I am competent to translate from [Language] to English and that the above [identify the document and to whom it pertains] is a correct and true translation to the best of my knowledge and belief."

My wife got two copies of her birth certificate translated and notarized by a person who did that in her home town in Colombia - the fee was just five dollars and worth it. Good Luck
