There is also nothing private when it comes to immigration! They are nosey ones for sure and can and have asked all kinds of personal things before!

Once you choose an immigration route you open yourself up to their scrutiny.

I actually see it as a positive. Me and my husband talk all the time via email, and met online, so by them looking into it it actually confirms what we are saying in our application!

And I agree to what others are saying - you shouldn't post anything on the internet that you don't want people to say. Visa application or no visa application. Once it's out there it's hard to get it back!

Many people think a K1 is faster so will apply when they are married. If you marry in another country it isn't automatically reported to the US. Many people have been denied for calling each other husband/wife having pictures that look like a wedding party. It is on you to prove you are not if questioned not on them to prove you are.

You might not see it as a big deal but consulates do. Some people have "secret" marriages or other scandals that they don't disclose to obtain certain visas and that constitutes a type of fraud and invalidates the visa they are trying to obtain. So, although you want to call your fiance your husband or fiancee your wife, they look at that with suspicion. While you might think that saying "not everything on Facebook is true", why would you post something untrue on your Facebook anyway? ( A question the consulate can ask).

Like another member mentioned, even employers look at people's Facebooks, I have seen people get fired because of misconduct on Facebook. It's as simple as that, whatever you put out on the internet, be wary that others can always look into it.

No it's not "natural", you are "wife to be" or "husband to be" or "I'm looking forward to being your wife" etc. Using the word when it isn't true minimises it's meaning (from now on you shall call me Duchess). You are ONLY husband and wife when married.

Really? So you can prove that you're not married? How? Explain to me how you can prove to the US government that at no point, in any country, you were married to your fiance?

If you're not married explain to me why you're calling your fiance, someone you are NOT married to, a term reserved for married people?

You (collectively) are being silly and risking your future together by calling each other a term that does NOT relate to you. You are drawing unneeded attention and red-flags into your relationship. Stop calling each other something you are not. It's like calling your best male friend your boyfriend. While the term COULD imply simply a boy that's a friend, that is not it's typical and known use so calling them that adds a dimension to the relationship that doesn't exist.

If you want to be together, stop doing stupid things that put it at risk, and stop doing things that add unnecessary stress to an already stressful and lengthy process.
