I been reading the older posts on here and just find it amusing to see how people complained 5 years ago about a lonnngggg 2 month wait and now we all on average have to wait 6+ months.. just thought it was funny for some reason jest.gif

I personally feel that good things come to those who wait even though it sucks :)

Okay I'll ramble somewhere else now! Everyone have a good day and night

Times have certainly changed and everyone has been forced to be more patient. I remember the post of the protest outside TSC and someone holding a sign for 100 days. Now everyone would think 100 days would be an expedite. Scary part is what will happen with immigration reform. Will people from a few years from now be laughing at us, saying "they only waited 200 days"? I certainly hope not, but who knows what could happen.

I just keep telling myself it will be worth it in the end. smile.png

Yes, 50 days waiting on NOA2 was a struggle for us..March 2008 filer..VSC. But I had seen the previous month people getting approved in 2-4 weeks so that was my expectation. A few months later and it was over 100 days. And I remember when Obama was running for his first term in 2008 and many VJ posters were certain he would instantly fix immigration and those 100 day waits would be history. Yeah, they are history all right, but not in the way they expected.

I don't know how you people stand it. I really do feel sorry for you.

1. One phrase: DACA, decreed by 0bama. There's nothing else and no one else to blame.

2. Same here, sigh man. I would never in a billion years want to go through this process again -- one reason is that it probably WOULD take a billion years.

And, when immigration reform does pass Congress, forget everything completely.

One thing I learned in life is always expect the unexpected especially change.

Don't feel sorry for us new filers :) It isn't easy to wait I can tell you that honestly, but it tests your love and trust in a person thousands of miles away. Good things come in good time. I just hope I don't run out of things to say to my fiancée when we finally do get married :D

I've always felt badly for everyone filing with US immigration that wasn't able to DCF. I can't remember how long it took us the first time for our NOA2, but from start to finish I think the whole process was 6 months. Not a long time in the grand scheme of things, but we were also able to be together throughout the whole thing. We've done our fair share of being apart...but no where near as long as some now!

Edited to add, just looked at our signature (forgot the last time around was down there) and it took 2 months for our NOA2 as we had an RFE.

I'm not waiting ... I'm writing my senators and congresswoman tonight, telling them to shut down bill S.744. Join the fight!

fairus.gov

How about fighting to ensure that the USCIS Service Centers are appropriately resourced to process all legitimate claimants in a timely manner? Ultimately that's what we need. I don't think that I'm more entitled than anyone else. I don't want our application to be delayed because there are too many other applicants whose applications are being prioritised either. But the solution is not to deny other people the same opportunity that we are applying for. The solution is to ensure that the processing organisation (USCIS) is properly resourced to process all applicants without delay.

This bill is a slap in the face to anyone who has immigrated to the US legally or is going through the process now like us. With DACA we have already seen that the administration and the USCIS under its control has putting illegal aliens ahead of American citizen petitioners. If this bill passes and 11+ million are granted amnesty, whose paperwork gets priority first at an even more constrained USCIS processing centers? You don't have to answer the question, because we know (many of us personally) the track record.

I would definitely support a bill that improves the efficiency and streamlines the USCIS to cut down processing times. But I'm not aware of any such bill out there that does there.

I suppose I'm making a distinction between the policy (I'm the beneficiary in this process, I'm not a US citizen, so I have no right to comment on US immigration policy) and the implementation of the policy (but I am a stakeholder in terms of implementation, so that's what I'm criticising). From my perspective, the problem isn't the policy per se, it's the fact that no additional resources have been provided to implement the policy, So I'm not going to sit here and criticise the policy, but I sure as hell will criticise the implementation of the policy, And I also think that's going to be a more productive route, Introducing a new route to immigration without providing the resources necessary to support the applications that go along with it indicates incompetence at best, and wilful apathy at worst. I'm not being an apologist for the administration. I'm just saying that in my opinion, the problem isn't with the policy. I think that the problem is with a lack of planning for the implementation of the policy.
