My husband is a US citizen, we married abroad and moved to the US recently I am applying for my green card from here and wonder will I be allowed to work once I have filed all my paperwork. Do you get a temporary working status while waiting? Any information regarding this would be much appreciated. THANKS :)

If you entered as tourist no, you cannot work until your AOS is complete.

Thanks for this so I have to file the paperwork and then wait for approvally before I can legally work? I was reading through some threads here and the wait time seems to be longggggg :/

Yes unfortunately you have to wait until you have your GC.

Also most spouse either enter on CR1, if you enter on CR1 you can work from day 1.... you cannot double dip :)

You are already taking advatange of filing for CR1 by entering on B1/2.

this is so helpful thanks. If I entered as a tourist and wish to stay permanently what are the next steps? Can I just file the required paperwork I130 and there is another I forget the code. Can I apply for a CR1 from here or best to do it from home (Abroad)?

Enter US on B1/2 with intention to go thru AOS is considered immigration fraud, you are not allowed to do that.

There is really no pro or con from doing it from US or from home country... only con is you have to wait in your home country until CR1 process is complete.

Worst case scenario is if somehow immigration believes you came with intention of doing AOS it can lead into complication and perm ban, I have never heard perm ban but I have heard where they would ask tons and tons of information.

Process is same and it pretty much takes the same time to complete the process.

Here is the guide to apply for CR1

I have never heard of them asking lots of questions.

There is a section for adjusting status.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
