Not normal but I read either here or on a FB group page about someone that their package was sent to a wrong area with NVC and thus if they hadn't kept calling it might have never been processed. So stay on top of them (NVC) and all the best.

Thanks. This is so frustrating, I waited 9 months for my approval and now this. :-(

*** Thread moved from K-1 Process forum to the Case Progress subforum. ***

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

We waited 4 weeks and then found out that the CSC never forwarded our file to the NVC. Our Congressman's aide inquired on our behalf, found out they screwed up and had our file expedited to and through the NVC.

You can call USCIS yourself, too (they only give info to the petitioner). Just make sure to be persistent.

Adjustment of Status:

07/09/2013 filed AOS/EAD/AP

07/15/2013 NOAs

08/07/2013 AOS RFE

08/09/2013 Biometrics

08/17/2013 RFE response received at NBC

09/11/2013 EAD/AP in production

09/19/2013 received EAD/AP

11/18/2013 potential interview waiver case notification

03/17/2014 Greencard approved and in production

That hs not worked out so well for me and i have waited almost a month and a half for my file to be delivered. I have contacted USCIC the last two days and the rep yeterday said that the system was overloaded and could not transfer me and this morning i got into an argument with the rep because she refused to transfer me. She said that even though we ask for a supervisor that does not mean she has to transfer you. She also went on to say that USCIS has 90 days to transfer a file to NVC and I said if that is the case then why is NVC telling me to call USCIS to initiate a request to find the location of my file. She said NVC can tell you what ever they want but USCIC has their own suspense dates and that i was misinformed. She said very sternly i have been working here five years and i know what i am talking about and i persisted to be transfered and she refused. WTH is up with the USCIS reps these last few weeks it seems like they dont want to handle anyones phone calls. ranting33va.gif ranting33va.gif ranting33va.gif

This sounds bad. Did you try contacting your senator?

I called USCIS just now and they told me to wait 90 days before contacting them again. According to them, USCIS can take up to 90 days to forward petition to NVC. I thought things were going to move faster once petition was approved. I am so disappointed.

No no no, that can't be right. Your approval is only valid for 90 days! God, I get so irritated with them, they're full of sh*t. I'd get in touch with my Congressman or Senator's office immediately if I were you. Who did you talk to on the phone? Was that just the call center operator who told you that?

Trust me, what they told you is not right. Like I said, our file was forgotten, and when the Congressman's aide found out, we received expedited treatment and they revalidated our approval notice (so we got another NOA2 dated one month after the first one) because going through the NVC and then the Consulate/Embassy might take up to three months.

Call them again and ask to speak to someone who actually works at USCIS, not some outsourced idiot. Tell them when your petition was approved and ask when they forwarded your file to the NVC.

Argh, they make me so angry, even when it's not about our case.ranting33va.gif

I called the 1-800-375-5283 number so I would assume it was a call center representative. You have a good point. The NOA2 itself will expire, how come they are saying to wait 90 days!!! I am contacting my senator now and I will also call USCIS again and tell them about the validity of NOA2 if they try to give me the same .
