Am I going to be the only tree murderer here??

I grew up with fake trees ... all my life!! I used to put real wreaths in the bottom of the tree, so I could have the smell, but it was never enough!!

Last year, we bought a murdered tree... and I am planning on doing the same this year... I cant help my self!! I dont mind vacuuming the needles! Pine candles just dont smell the same!!! for me, it's got to be a mix of pine with xmas scented candles... (cinammon? I dunno what it is... hehe)...

And I am one of those matchy-matchy people... last year I used multicolored ... this year I am going with white lights, and gold and silver ornaments...

Now I feel sorry for the trees!!! You guys just spoiled Xmas for me!!!

I might have a murdered tree too. We will decide on Friday when we go to the tree farm with my parents. They are getting one, and while we are there, if we see one we like we might get it. If not, we'll get a fake one(but I'm not spending more than $40 for either!! :innocent: We're cheapskates. ).

The reason we had a fake one for so long when I was growing up is because my dad thought he was allergic to them. Then once they decided to just try a real one to see what happens, and he wasn't allergic. It's all his fault all those years!! j/k But that's why we prefer real now, we missed out on it for a long time! I don't think it's that hard to clean up after.

And I also love cinnamon, pumpkin, sugar cookie, etc scented holiday candles.

*baby whiny tone*

You guys are meeeeaaaannnn!!! :P

Im still getting a real tree... I dont think I'll feel overly sorry for it.

Like Stina, in my family we never had real ones (way too expensive in Venezuela), so I'm picking up for all the lost time... I'll be a nice girl and post a piccy of my tree when I get it..:P

If you go with fake, try Wal-Mart. I got a fantastic 6' fake tree there several years ago for $20. It only lasted through five Christmases, but hey. Not bad for $20. (We just bought a new one. $100 for 7½'. It's cheaper if you don't want pre-lit.)

I got a fake, prelit one but I went and put more multicolor lights because it looked thin and I like it bright! :star::star::star::star:

Then after Xmas is over, to the box, to the closet until next year.

I had a murdered tree just once a few years ago but got tired of all the needles everwhere, specially when I needed to take that thing out of the house! So I have a fake tree and burn a pine candle LOL...

I grew up using real trees. Now, since my husband theoretically (and I say theoretically because I don't believe him :P ) is allergic, we have this monstronsity of a fake tree (which looks real, so I'm happy). It's covered with ornaments that I have collected since I was a small child (I even have ones from elementary school.), and my collection of ornaments that feature angels playing flutes.

Oh, and lights. Lots and lots of lights.

Well, we went to the Christmas tree farm yesterday with my family. (In Florida, the nice trees are shipped from other places like N. Carolina and Michigan since we can't grow those kind in this climate) There weren't any trees under $40, and that was for a small one. So we got a fake pre-lit tree for $30 instead. It's pre-lit with colored lights. It's not as beautiful as a real tree, but it will do.

Actually, I thought of boobs.

:P

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.
