Would this story have been a big deal if GZ was a black guy? (African American if you prefer)

It wouldn't have been a story because it wouldnt' have happened.

A black guy in a mixed neighborhood wouldn't have called the cops on a lone white kid walking home from the store. And if he did, he would have just waited for the cops to come, why? Because we know the law doesn't work the same way when it comes to us. That's why Stand Your Ground isn't favored within our community, there have been a few occasions in which it was clearly self defense, and yet the survivor(black) still wound up in jail.

This raises a good point. There are thousands of senseless black on black killings in the US every year. But you don't see the black community get as outraged for all of those murders combined, as you do when one "white guy" shoots and kills a black man. Why is that?

Wouldn't you have to consider the percentage of stops made in "problem neighborhoods?" Wouldn't there (unfortunately) be a higher percentage of latinos and blacks living in lower income areas that would account for at least some of this difference?

Yes, but here's the question. If that's the case why are there still problems within the neighborhoods? I've said this before, for all the SAF they do, you shouldn't have a single issue, but they target blacks and latinos, not criminals. Last year they stopped more blacks than there were blacks in the city. And caught about 1% of the criminals. We're talking about folks going to and from work and school, not drug dealers and gang members.

Actually they do. Check out the root, news one, and other black websites. They are always complaining about the violence within our own communities. That's where I get most of my stories from. The problem is we don't have a strong enough voice. If CO and Newtown didn't happen, Chicago wouldn't have been brought up. It takes non minoirities to lose their lives for it to get to the national level.

funny you should mention that....

He was raised in a racially integrated household and himself has black roots through an Afro-Peruvian great-grandfather - the father of the maternal grandmother who helped raise him.

The black community does not show the organized outrage about black on black killings that they show when it's white on black crime. If they did, there would be a lot less black on black crime.

Remember Tango & Cash?

Cash: You wanna cut my throat, go ahead. You wanna cut my fcukin' head off and use it for a fcukin' basketball? You can bowl with the motherfcuker for all I care. Just don't let HIM do it. I don't wanna get killed by this limey, immigrant JERKOFF. I wanna get killed by an AMERICAN jerkoff.

See? It's not so bad if you get killed by one of your own. That's why!

Yes but I don't like to speak on something I have little or no knowledge of. If I can read up on the difference between Murder 1 or 2, Man 1 or 2, I could probably come up with a better conclusion.

Murder 2 - acting with a depraved mind, without regard for human life

depraved mind - the state of mind which is contrary to justice, honesty or morality.

Looks like a slam dunk to me.

The outrage comes from the injustice of having the killer walk free. You show me a case where a black guy kills another black guy and doesn't get charged.

There has been overwhelming outrage by the black community over the TM murder, and there hasn't even been a trial yet. How has the killer walked free? I remember seeing a very large contingent of the black community partying in the streets the day OJ was acquitted. A killer walked free that day, where was the outrage then?

I'm sure there are hundreds, if not thousands of unsolved black on black killings.

i don't think anything is a slam dunk, but it looks like manslaughter to me

To establish involuntary manslaughter, the prosecutor must show that the defendant acted with "culpable negligence." Florida statutes define culpable negligence as a disregard for human life while engaging in wanton or reckless behavior. The state may be able to prove involuntary manslaughter by showing the defendant's recklessness or lack of care when handling a dangerous instrument or weapon, or while engaging in a range of other activities that could lead to death if performed recklessly.

.

Florida state laws also establish involuntary manslaughter if the prosecutor shows that the defendant used excessive force during self-defense

So, this was revenge for OJ, because the LAPD screwed up the evidence? wacko.png
