i'm not saying that i don't understand gz wanting to follow tm in order to have something to tell the cops, since he called them out there and all..

i'm saying you're willing to be open minded when it comes to gz - but not the victim. do you entertain the possibility that tm was simply walking home from the store and did not attack gz? if so, that isn't something i've read from you here.

Of course it's possible that GZ swung first, missed, and then TM swung back. It's possible that, when TM asked why he was being followed and GZ responded why are you here; it's easy to see GZ putting his hand on his gun, then prompting TM to understandably swing first. I imagine both were very scared at this point so almost anything is possible. However, even if TM didn't attack first, he definitely pounded on GZ. To act like TM, didn't hit GZ is dishonest.

As for the worry over riots; I have no idea how old you are or if you remember Rodney Kind and Reginald Denny but if you do then you understand that my concern is not telling at all.

never said tm didn't hit gz. it is my opinion that tm was defending himself against an unknown threat, a man following him and then confronting him. without justification. gz may have needed something to tell the cops, because in his head tm was up to no good. this wasn't the reality, however.

of course i remember rodney king and reginald denny. both were victims of unspeakable violence. the la riots occured because justice was not served. those riots did not stem from the rodney king incident alone, however. people had been (and still are) dealing with police brutality and mistreatment for quite a while and it was only a matter of time before neighborhoods reached a breaking point. actually, a similar, more severe, situation has been building in modesto, ca for a while now as well.

Yes, that is very possible. The concept behind that is that of the lesser included offense(s). Murder 2 includes the lesser offense of manslaughter. So Zimmerman could very well be found not guilty of murder 2 but found guilty of the lesser included offense of manslaughter.

oj wasn't a cop beating nicole to death, but a celebrity. the la riots happened because of the police element in particular neighborhoods and their mistreatment of citizens. imagine your daily life involving police profiling, mistreatment, and brutality. this happening to your children, your parents, your friends, etc. it was a violent atomosphere that exploded. that's why the riots occured after the joke of a verdict.. the cops were out of control and no one checked them.
