i-130 Chicago lock box processing time?

i sent the i130 petition to the Chicago lock box in feb 2013. so far i have only received a receipt. anxiously waiting for approval/acceptance. how long do u guys think it will take?

also, whats meant by field office / service center / national benefit center? i filed at chicago lock box. so whats the time frame like? which month are they currently doing now?

why is it taking this long? my sister filed her i130 in 2011 and the acceptance came within 3 weeks. her entire process took max 7 months.

Approval for I-130s is averaging 4-5 months for lockbox filers.

The lockbox is only a routing facility. Your petition will then be assigned to the USCIS processing center assigned to the state in which the US citizen resides. You can find out which center that is by the 3 letters listed in front of your receipt number. every facility processing times are different and depending on which petition you filed. In our case from date of receipt to interview date it was 308 days.. It takes long because it is what it is A PROCESS. Good luck!

Local offices are still not showing I-130 information. They keep saying they will fix it but haven't got around to it yet. Don't put too much stock in those things anyway as different offices have different processing times and some of them are still adjusting to the new workload (Atlanta in particular). Moving at the speed of government, as usual.

hm okay. but is it true that only this year 2013, the uscis is very much delayed? any idea which month they re currently doing now?

No, it's not only in 2013, and you are not yet suffering a delay. Which month a local office is working on is not determinable at this time. If you are pretty sure something is wrong with your case, you can schedule an InfoPass appointment from the USCIS.gov home page.

No, it's not only in 2013, and you are not yet suffering a delay. Which month a local office is working on is not determinable at this time. If you are pretty sure something is wrong with your case, you can schedule an InfoPass appointment from the USCIS.gov home page.

im just a little worried its taking long because my sisters entire process in 2011 was complete under 7 months.

my wife is pregnant, and we are hoping for the birth of our child to be in USA.

my receipt starts with MSC. what does that mean?
