Hi everyone again,

Just received paper copy of NOA2 today (super happy). They put my fiancee's first initial letter wrong, we didn't spell it out, just put the first letter. Is that a big issue, I will contact USCIS about it. It is correct on our forms that we submitted, so it's their error, should we be worried?

Don't call uscis about it, if you got your Noa2 your papers will be sent to the NVC.

We had a similar issue, but I brought it up at the interview just to make sure the visa had the correct spelling. It was a type error made by someone at uscis and no problem to fix.

Noa 1 August 15th 2011
Noa 2 March 2nd

NVC case numbers March 22nd
My sons AOS and IV bill paid March 23rd (status in progress)
My sons AOS and IV bill shows as paid March 26
My IV bill paid March 26
Both packages sent on March 26
My IV bill shows as paid on March 27th
CC on both cases March 30

Current record holder of fastest through the NVC :D

Medical exam in Stockholm April 13th
Interview on May 16th !!!
POE Anchorage July 12th!! 2012

July 2015 n-400 in the mail

September 2015, interview

The same thing happened to me, my fiance's (beneficiary) name was misspelled. I called USCIS and put in a service request for them to change the spelling. However, once you have your NOA2, USCIS is officially done with your case and they send it on to the NVC. I got a notice from USCIS recently in the mail that they could not complete my service request because the case was already sent.

You can submit a request in writing to the NVC if you time it right, but since your case will only be at the NVC for a couple days you only have a small window to have them change it there at the NVC.

Fortunately, I was told by an NVC employee that it's not a big deal and that it can be addressed at the embassy. The spelling of the name for the visa itself depends on the spelling in the passport.
