We recently received a letter informing us that my new wife has an appointment in Portland, Oregon for biometrics as part of our AOS process. From what I understand this is only to take her fingerprints. The appointment is for 4:00pm on a Monday and we live 6 hours from Portland.

So..my question is if we arrive earlier than 4pm can we get the fingerprints taken earlier?

Just wondering because it would be a lot easier to drive to Portland on Sunday, have an earlier appt., then drive back home on Monday night.

Any help would be appreciated.

Even if you arrive early they will let you in but will call u up for fingerprints during whatever time they gave u the appointment

Actually, at my fingerprinting, I was not even admitted into the building until 15 minutes prior to my appointment. Might be different for different offices though.

you probably want to search VJ if somewhere your area allowed early biometric walk in. most Vjer's went for early walk in without problem. my husband had done it, no question ask. (3wks earlier than his biometric appointment)

The longer it takes to happen the more you'll appreciate it when it does!

We got to ours early but they were not busy they let her in right away but if your passport name is different then married name then take a marriage license just in case I am glad we took ours. They made me wait outside the building they said I was not allowed in the building without an appointment and they had no seating inside the lobby!

This was for Wichita Kansas

You could try making an InfoPass appointment for the Monday morning. Tell them you have a biometrics appt. that afternoon, but that if at all possible, you'd like to hit the road earlier so you can drive before it is dark. That worked for me in SLC (and my drive was only 4 1/2 hours).

Good luck.
