Let me start with the most important question first:

1. What will my foreign beneficiary need as far as documents, once the petition is approved, does it vary from country to country? She is from Spain. I'm worried this will be the most difficult to get nailed down since she will not be with me in US, I'm sure the requests or forms they send will be in her language, and so on. Like will she need a copy of her birth certificate, or any other items that weren't required when we filed i-129F?

2. I am the US petitioner (man). Is the correct term for my girl, the foreign beneficiary, "fiancé"? I have seen "fiancee", so just want to clarify.

3. When you put the passport type photo in a plastic bag, was it like a ziplock baggie? Did you staple it to a blank sheet and then place behind the G-325A, or just staple to the G-325A?

4. How can I copy my birth certificate? Literally just scan it? I've heard of certified copies or something like that? What's the best/correct way to do this?

5. In Part B Section 12 of i-129F form. It says

If your fiancé(e) is currently in the U.S., complete the following:

He or she last arrived as a:

(visitor, student, exchange alien,

crewman, stowaway, temporary worker, without inspection,

etc.)

Arrival/Departure Record (I-94) Number

Date of Arrival

(mm/dd/yy)

She will be here on VWP when we file. Is this section is referring to when she just recently arrived, and not a time before the time she just arrived in US, if that makes sense? If so, should I put visitor for the box "He or she last arrived as a:"?

6. She is from Spain, so for Part B, Section 20 of i-129F, she will apply for visa abroad at American Embassy in Madrid, Spain. This is the correct location?

7. Should I fill in all blank spaces with N/A on i-129F? What's the best practice for this, Like in the Part A Section 9, should I put N/A for name of prior spouses and N/A for dates marriage ended? And for Part B Section 13, put N/A in every space. Also in Part C Section 1 for military service. I searched the forums and got lots of different answers. You think it's safe to just put N/A in every blank box, excluding the ones preceded by "If Yes...."?

8. Is a separate sheet really necessary for Part B Section 18 for describing how we met? I know the guide says yes, but is there an example description? I feel like I could fill up a page if needed, but I could also summarize it easily in the box on the form, which I think would be best to not have extra pages. What do you think?

Thanks so much for the answers, and I'm sure I will have more to come smile.png

Answers in red below.. I answered the stuff I could..

She will need a copy of her birth certificate. I think the request and forms will all still be in English. See the spanish consulate section on VJ for more info.

2. I am the US petitioner (man). Is the correct term for my girl, the foreign beneficiary, "fiancé"? I have seen "fiancee", so just want to clarify.

fiance (one e) refers to the male. Fiancee (two e's) refers to the female. Easy way to remember one e in male and two e's in female.

3. When you put the passport type photo in a plastic bag, was it like a ziplock baggie? Did you staple it to a blank sheet and then place behind the G-325A, or just staple to the G-325A?

Staple the inside portion (so it can still be opened) to a blank page and write (or print) passport photo of xxxx on it. Make sure to also write the name on the back of the photo

4. How can I copy my birth certificate? Literally just scan it? I've heard of certified copies or something like that? What's the best/correct way to do this?

I just scanned and printed mine both sides (even though the back was blank), I put a post it on it saying that my back was blank but

5. In Part B Section 12 of i-129F form. It says

If your fiancé(e) is currently in the U.S., complete the following:

He or she last arrived as a:

(visitor, student, exchange alien,

I put N/A or None everywhere I could

8. Is a separate sheet really necessary for Part B Section 18 for describing how we met? I know the guide says yes, but is there an example description? I feel like I could fill up a page if needed, but I could also summarize it easily in the box on the form, which I think would be best to not have extra pages. What do you think?

If you can make it fit and make sure your case has been established and they will not have any more question then don't use an attachment. If you would like to write more detail (I wrote how we met and then said I have been to Germany on these dates for these periods and wrote my fiancee has been to the US on these dates for these periods. Then also wrote a note at the bottom saying please see last section of packet for proof (including boarding passes, passport stamps etc..)

Thanks so much for the answers, and I'm sure I will have more to come smile.png

Thanks for the answers, great!

Anyone else able to comment on #5, #6, #9?

Also adding one more

10. When you mail the whole package out, did you put little post it tabs or dividers? Or did you just place each piece in the package in some specific order?

Adding another:

11. On the G-325A form it asks last address outside US of more than 1 year. I lived in London for about 2 years in 1999, so I should put that right? Also what do I put for Province or State? Since London is the city and England is the Country?
