Wow! I just found this site and good thing I followed my guts and just proceed to the next step as per indicated by Hanks! It's good to know I did the right thing. Just waiting for my actual interview date and praying the consul will approve my visa.

Woooo!  You resurrected an OLD topic!      Much of that old topic is obsolete.

You can't start to do anything until you have your MNL#, then you can start to get things done.    Don't get all anxious and jump the gun.   This process can easily be done within a month of your READY status .. how fast things get done will be up to you.

Embassy has started to crack down on those that schedule the interview before your status on the CEAC website shows ready.

Here is a link to get you through the process   http://www.visaconnection-philippines.com/k-1-visa-application.html

As for the medical, it is first come first served, no appt.  Here is a link to assist with that   http://www.visaconnection-philippines.com/medical---slec.html

Hi Hank, I know this post is old but I still think your info is relevant.

I just wanted to share my current situation on the process. My fiancé called NVC and got the MNL# but I can't really do anything about it yet because we don't have the email or letter in the mail. I'm correct in saying I have to wait for that, right? Because SLEC requires it?

Second, what did you mean about the embassy crack down on those who schedule the interview early? Does that still apply, as in, do I have to wait for case status to say "READY" before I schedule the embassy interview?

(Thanks for your help by the way. You've been answering a lot of my questions.)

My info stays relevant on the website links because I keep updating things as I learn of changes.  But old postings just get old... and inaccurate.  ;)

Now a days it is a waste of time calling NVC to get the MNL # , you will need either the letter or email from NVC with your MNL# before you complete the medical at SLEC.

Here is a link to request the email from NVC  http://www.visaconnection-philippines.com/nvc-k-1.html   NVC will not reply to the email until the case file has shipped to the embassy.

The required process is you should not schedule the interview until you see READY status on the CEAC website, or you receive the embassy letter (would not wait for this one ... it is delivered by PhilPost .. YIKES!)
