spooky, it's really not about the sex - it's about the lass and her buddies being comfortable.

She was able to make it happen, I say good for her !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Good for her ! It's always best when the woman choses the other wives...

Ah! Good point! She new it was eventually going to happen so at least this way she was able to chose who they were.. Not about who he marries but who he doesn't marry.

So being the gender numbers are roughly equal for every guy that has his four wives there are three seriously frustrated men someplace else. I'm surprised there is not more violence.

Do you have stats on how many men have 4 wives in Saudi Arabia?

::crickets::

I didn't think so.

Latest stats I could find are 44% of men have multiple wives (no stats on the exat number of wives) with the percentages increasing in the last ten years..

.. cricket line was uncalled for, why be a such jerk about an opinion?

It's nothing personal. I am not defending polygamists or the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia because I have plenty of contempt for both. But when I see dubious comments being made about a country's entire population or trends without a shred of fact or source, the quant/stat in me pounces. I don't know of any English language studies done on Saudi families that would give such statistics as you referenced above, so where did you get it? I'm guessing the same place jihadwatch gets its "sources".

As for real studies: Saudi Arabia [and indeed other Gulf countries] has a crazy high rate of divorce http://english.alarabiya.net/articles/2012/02/15/194847.html . Why? In societies where people can't date, many use their first year of marriage as a dating phase. If they're not a good fit then they move on. Just goes to show despite different laws among countries on a person to person level we're not all so different after all.
