Has anyone ever applied for a tourist visa from China? I know we have to write an invitation letter but what else will we need to submit. This is for my wife's brother and his family to visit her here in the U.S. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!

General Information

Improvements to visa application procedures

Improvements to U.S. visa application procedures went into effect across China on March 16, 2013. The new online system makes it easier and less expensive to apply for a visa to the United States. These services will be provided to visa applicants by our authorized partner, CGI Stanley.

How to Apply for a Visa

To learn about the visa application process, pay the visa application fee online, and schedule an appointment, please visit the visa application website.

Diplomatic visas and government-sponsored programs

Applicants for no-fee visas in categories including A, G, C-3, government-sponsored J programs, and diplomatic passport holders, please see "Applicants exempt from paying visa application fees" for details on visa processing.

Warning

CGI Stanley is the only company that the U.S. Consulate General authorizes to provide visa information and visa application services. The U.S. Consulate General does not endorse or have a "special relationship" with any other individual or business that offers advice or assistance with the visa process. No one can guarantee the issuance of a visa to you. The only U.S. consular office in Guangzhou is located on the 5th floor at Tianyu. All U.S. government forms are free. Beware: many visa applicants lose money or are permanently barred from the United States as a result of misleading information and fraudulent applications provided by visa consultants.

Here is the information you need! Good Luck to your relatives.

I worote an invitation letter, and a letter to the embassy staff indicating I would support her while she was in the US and make sure she returned to China as scheduled. She has a good job, home and strong family ties, we had no issues. Good Luck.
