My wife got the I130 petition approved a week before her coming I paid the $165.00 I got a letter today stating we have placed it on suspense it in suspense pending a decision on the fee.

I went on the website since it a Saturday to check case status and states the following:

On May 10, 2013, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283

What do I do next if I get the green card, what's next? it there a short cut guide like lings for the I130 process for the green card restrictions removing and resident application?

I already received the social security card.

Congrats on her arrival!

you do nothing next.. for now. Just get het to apply for the state ID, any plans to have her drive? then get learners permit, teach her and go for the driving test. job search?

Mark on your calender and various places that your eyes will note, that you are eligible to remove conditions on her green card( if what you have is a CR-1) NINETY DAYS( 90) before the expiration date on her card. failure to do this by april 2015 is cause for her removal from the U.S .

People get busy with life and forget that requirement. you could pop into the 'removal of conditions' forum to see what will be required of you when that time comes and start planning for it from now like joint bank account, joint, lease etc.

one question, did you have to take any action before you received your SSN or it just arrived in the mail for her. How many days after her arrival dod she received the SSN?

Waiting for the green card before going to get the state ID and permit later on when shes more settled in.

Job search not so much, lol too soon let her get accustomed to time zone and culture change and paper work and health insurance ect.

I did not take any action on getting her SS. ON the DS230 form for the NVC their is a section for it, if you want them to send you a SS card upon entry and two weeks after she came they sent the card.

Thanks! yes I am aware of that section on the DS 230 and we did check it. In the past many still had to visit a local SSN office prior receiving thier card as SSA did not seem to follow up on that form but lately it appears they have been on top of their game and I am just monitoring to see if the trend is consistent. Anyway we still have to make that trip as I want to change my name.
