You must beware of manufacturing data vs showing signs of being married. Too much manfactured data will cause issues. Having an account as a couple and using ti for expenses of that couple is natural. Opening and account and showing it when you aren't using it shows you are making up data,

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Thanks for the information. We submitted proof @NVC of joint Domiciary and Current account in Nigeria. Is it still a requirement @the interview? I wanted to but, couldn't add my husband or open a joint acct becoz he needs a SSN here in the U.S...

I don't know about it being a REQUIREMENT cos that would mean without a joint account, people will be denied visas. My hubby and I do not currently have anything joint in terms of finances. No joint leases, nothing. For USCIS' co-mingling of finances, the only thing we did was have our landlord type a statement on his letterhead( which introduces him as contractor or so) stating we rent a 3 bedroom aprtment with him.

After I read about the hassles with SSN and Id requirements, I didnt not bother anymore hence we did not submit anything to that effect ( except copy of a wire transfer I made to him during our wedding planning) and we were fine.

Like NigeriaorBust said, if those things already exist good but creating them now just for a purpose points to painting a picture of what is not.

GOD has been WONDERFUL!!!

The embassy is nor concerned with how much you have in the bank. Co-comingling is not a requirement. That feature really is more for down the road for those Removing Conditions ROC). They aren't expecting us who haven't lived together to be added to accounts and such.

If you have a joint accont great and use it and show the in and out and withdrawals thats great.

Thats what we had was a joint account and showed my 6 1/2 months living there and all the withdrawals and his deposits and withdrawals, after i left and my depoist and withdrawals. So a healthy looking account.

Never really had a whole bunch of money it it. Just day to day expenses, but it was an active account that showed his direct deposit and my direct deposit.

As has been said co-mingling of accounts and such are not a requirement. My hubby and I didn't have any of this, so we didn't submit it. As Debbie said, if you have it great, if not don't worry as it is not expected if you haven't lived together yet.
