Did you request an expedite at all? I'm just curious. Congrats.

Not an expedite. My case and ten more cases of numbers before and after my case number got approved all at once Edited by mksobe

We have a may 16th priority date for our i130, still heard nothing. I don't know how well the MSC numbers reflect the order applications were received in, but I tried entering the MSC numbers of those those to either side of me into the USCIS case status checker (i.e. if my number is MSC1234567, I looked at MSC1234568, MSC1234569 etc.), and all were transferred within the last 5 or 6 days - I checked about 20 on both sides of myself.

I'm assuming this is because our application was filed from abroad, so it remains at the national benefits center rather than getting transferred to a service center. I honestly don't know whether this is a good or bad thing in terms of time remaining, but congrats to everyone so far!

I have the exact same situation... Sent to the Chicago lockbox from Hong Kong. We filed abroad, and still not a hint of activity on ours...

Well that is just hunky dory...tried to change my address online with USCIS and got this message:

  • You must select the Form Number associated to your Receipt Number. The Form Number you selected does not match our records for that Receipt Number.
I tried several times and still getting the same message so I guess I will have to call them. Maybe this is a reason I haven't seen a transfer yet?

Is it an address from abroad? I ran into this issue when I tried to change my Hong Kong address... I went through many hoops and ladders, only to be lied to on the phone about officially changing my address. I had to go to my local uscis office while I was on vacation visiting my parents in the USA to change the address. I can certainly go into more details if needed.

Well I just called an spoke to an immigration officer re change of address. It would not accept my foreign address with no zip code but he did change the address for me. He said my file hasn't been touched and still at NBC so I continue to 'hurry up and wait'!

Congratulations to all of you who are getting approved! What a wonderful Christmas present! yes.gif

Yes, it was a foreign address but hopefully they changed it. They said a confirmation should be received at the new address within 5 days so hopefully it changed ok. Sorry you had such a difficult time getting yours changed. I'll cross my fingers it doesn't happen with me!

Good luck to you. I hope you get the confirmation. I had many phone calls where they told me they were changing it while we were on the phone, and then that it was changed (and I even talked to a second tier elevation). I never got a confirmation after three attempts on the phone. The fifth or sixth phone call I had the lady say that the call center is unable to see foreign addresses on their computers, and that I would have to go to my local uscis office. I had previous confirmation numbers or reference numbers from the past two phone attempts with me at the office. when the lady at the uscis office pulled up my file, she said that were no address changed noted. She then went ahead and changed the address. Later that night, my case status online was updated, with it saying that my address was changed. So it took me six phone calls (with countless hours) a few weeks to wait for confirmation letters, (that never arrived) and one trip to the state uscis office, to change my foreign address. I was very lucky that I was able to do it while on vacation.

I'm not trying to make you worry more, but I would double and triple check to make sure. I had an awful time trying to get it changed.

Approved! No expedite from Nebraska. I can not believe it after an 8 month wait. For all those who still wait, keep your chin up it will come. I still remain committed to speeding up the system and will continue to do my part to do so. Good luck to all!

Updating y'all. Got my hard copy in the mail today. We were transferred from NBC (Lee's Summit) to California Service Center.

Now, I have a question, perhaps one of you lovely folks could answer it, because when I called the USCIS information line they were of ZERO help.

When I initially filed my petition, my last name was still my maiden name. After I filed, I then changed my last name to that of my husbands. I got my name updated on passport, state i.d., and ssc. When I received all my updated identification, I called USCIS and told them that my surname had changed since I applied. They told me to send in a letter explaining the name change and then send in copies of my new i.d. and passport. I did that and called back a wk after I sent that to see if they had received and updated my petition with new name. They were unable to answer me. When I got the letter today it came in maiden name and so the answer is no, they have not yet updated it. Here is my question. Have any of you ladies changed your surname after you filed and if so how did you inform them? Do any of you think that perhaps they forwarded my envelope containing updated surname along with my petition to California?
