My wife's I-130 is still pending, but her I-485 adjustment of status is now in testing and interviewing stage (they sent a letter in the mail that has the interview appointment).

Is this good, to have pending I-130 and finalized I-485? Shouldn't it be the other way round?

Lisa called USCIS yesterday and was told they are currently processing Sept 2012 applications.

I am waiting in New Zealand to join my wife (married 23 years), so I called the US Consulate here in Auckland. They are very friendly, but are unable to do anything until the file moves from NBC to NVC. They said once that happens and I pay the next lot of fees, they can try to get the file sent to Auckland to at least expedite the next phase.

They did also say the following:

"

I meant to tell you too, that we just heard that NVC has received four times the usual number of approved petitions this month, and that Posts abroad should expect increases in cases being sent out – apparently USCIS have worked hard on their backlog! So hopefully your case will be among that number. "

Thank you so much for mentioning this! I finally contacted them too, and due to my son's medical condition, they were able to get special permission from the regional office in Bangkok to have our case processed in Auckland, which will be oh-so-much-faster.

Thank you!!!

Hey guys, I've finally been approved :-) I wish I could be of more help but I was expedited so my timeline really doesn't help much at all. :-( but I do recommend that everyone use their congressmen/women's offices to help get information, mines felt lik a life saver :-)

Congrats!!!

My timeline is exactly like yours. What situation did you explain to your congressman/woman's office? Was it anything related to a humanitarian crisis, civil war or medical condition? I'm just wondering if only stressing the long wait in a convening letter can help. I would appreciate your response

well first you should note that the expedite is towards uscis, the congressmans office just made sure it got into the uscis' hands as opposed the the airheads from the phone help that failed to submit an expedite twice. But I made the expedite based on humanitarian reasons, explaining with news references the situation in Egypt and how it has debilitated and reduced the quality of life to what it is today.

There was an approval on the 15th for a July filer. The approval was from NBC.
No, he was not a DCF nor an expedite. Just a regular filer.
So it sounds like the NBC is approving petitions now

11/28/2016: I-130 sent to Chicago IL lock box

my reaction exactly!

I don't think they know what they are doing right now in NBC!

I'm a July filer myself, and I know I'll be pissed if I see a regular September or October I-130 approved.

Good luck to all
