Just got confirmation at the conference that stand-alone I-130s (i.e. not with an I-485) stopped being sent to local USCIS offices several weeks ago. The local offices are trying to finish up their remaining stand-alone I-130s in the next few weeks.

Didn't we already know that? Does she know anything on whether the backlog will get cleared soon and whether the processing will resume?

I'm talking about the files which were already sitting at the NBC, and/or the ones who filed abroad and are supposed to be at the NBC anyways?

Was the NBC just spending their days transferring files this whole time?

Well, i'd say (given it's true) it's good news for:

1. People whose petitions were sent to field offices (hopefully finalized till end of month);

2. People filing in August and later (they'll be falling within 6 months timeframe if the backlog is handled as she expects).

Everyone in between - and i can't tell exactly starting from which month - is already hitting a longer timeframe (august + 6 months = february, so the backlog handling in her estimate is going to be done then and adjudication will be back on normal track). For someone who filed in July it would mean more than 6 months probably.

Laurel probably knows more, just hasn't posted it on her FB. She was posting all that info from her phone while at the conference.

But, she holds free weekly chats on her website, every Wednesday. Maybe we could ask her then?

All USCIS email addresses follow firstname.lastname@dhs.gov naming convention.

We should try it.

Edit: My husband just sent her an email. If it doesn't bounce, then we will know what her email address is.

I thought as much. I asked my lawyer if he can use his AILA membership or merely the fact that he is an immigration attorney to contact her directly. We'll see what comes out of it.

DeltaGal, had an NOA1 date of 4/29, and got NOA2 at the end of September. Does that count?

Also, http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?id=160424 had NOA1 on 5/6 and got NOA2 on 10/1.

Both had NOA1 and NOA2 from Lee's Summit.
