so now the word is overland park is holding I-130s and not adjudicating them? doesn't that conflict with the ALIA meeting notes that is floating around here?

Given the worst case timeline and that they're not mistaken about their own schedule, division 8 just started adjudicating cases on 9/30. So, we should be seeing decisions coming in from Overland Park, right? April filers said that pre-adjudications (basically incoming quality inspection) have already started and some completed to go into adjudication. It's just a waiting game at the moment. I'm hoping that we're not looking at a worldpeace2013 situation, ... another six months from today? Seems a bit far fetched, but it is another data point to consider.

I have been following up with those who have recently had a decision, and so far, all of the decisions in the recent weeks have been from those with NOA1's from Lee's Summit. (I'm keeping a running list in my profile feed) AFAIK, nobody with an NOA1 from Overland Park actually has had a decision yet.

Interesting. I checked out your profile feed and saw three I-130 approvals noting Lee's Summit. There are more I-130 approvals on VJ in recent weeks, though. Not a lot, but more than three. You might be right that Overland Park hasn't started adjudicating I-130s yet. I don't recall seeing an NBC/Overland Park approval as of now. Maybe, just maybe, there's a large team there, and when they start, the adjudications will fly. That's what we hope.

Sorry, I'm not as ontop of it as I'd like (work and all). If you know of any more that aren't on the list and know where their petitions were adjudicated at, feel free to add. That would be very helpful, thanks! :) My goal was to determine who started out at Overland Park, where they ended up getting adjudicated and when.

Not really, but just found this tongue.pnghttp://www.napw.com/profile/10297233/Brandi-Blackburn/

Maybe we could register there and send her a message... tongue.png

Nice work. In the past, I have searched for her, too, and found that page, also.

Pancake (and the rest of you), I've started a letter, which is here:

www.uscgreencardpetitionerscommittee.blogspot.com

It speaks for itself. I've just created it all using blogger, so don't worry that the letter is barely started. I'll get to writing it out in the next few days.

But, Pancake, or one of you professionally employed ladies out there, here's what I'll ask of you as a quid pro quo: When this letter is done, that one of you register for the napw (Ms. Blackburn's association, noted above). Then we will be able to email her a cover letter, through that organization, that says, something like this: "Dear Ms. Blackburn, Hundreds of I-130 petitioners with foreign spouses are signatories to a letter addressed to you at uscgreencardpetitionerscommittee.blogspot.com. We hope that you will direct your attention to our concerns and respond to us {etc]" Then at the bottom of the letter, we, cc: AILA, news directors at national and local news organizations, our elected representatives, the White House, etc, and send them cover letters, too.

This letter might be a better method than what has been tried before. The White House petition counts signatories, in order to trigger a response, but we are relatively smaller in number, though our issue affects us far more deeply than the subjects of those other petitions on the WH petitioners' website. Also, AILA has not responded to two letters I have sent to them. Individually, our Congressmen seem to be as impotent as we are. The Philly news organization has not responded to our email campaign.

The letter on the blog (and perhaps subsequent communiques from our 'committee') will stand, and so we can build our campaign incrementally. We can add content (comments, additional posts, additional cc's) as we wish, so that our complaints accrue, the names on the cc list accrue and are published.

What we will have to do is send out lots of emailed cover letters that drives people from news organization and gov't to this site so that they will know that others are seeing it, too. Then they might have more reason to pay attention to us.

The point is that we have not yet found an effective way to organize, and maybe this will be a better way.

I just LOVE the plan!

Would you believe that I (swear to God) just wanted to send you a PM saying we all should get organized and make some noise?

And, just a thought, if they're saying that I-130s processing times are so long because they're swamped, why couldn't they transfer some of the cases to the service centers? they seem totally capable of adjudicating petitions (mostly I-129f/K-1, but we saw some I-130s approved there too) in a timely manner.

Why couldn't they do that?

Why are I-130s such a low priority?

As Hollyday already pointed out, NAWP is a national organization, so we need a professional American woman to try and apply for a membership there. http://www.napw.com/web-form-021710-3.cfm

I forgot that you are not American - sorry. But my mistake is a tribute to your excellent English. Well, let's round up a professional American woman. I'll get going on the letter and then let's spread the word on the message boards.

I think we should find a volunteer to register there even before the letter is done because if they're actually approving membership it might take some time, so it'd be more efficient to do in parallel.

I'm the beneficiary.

Yes!! I completely agree and don't understand why they can't spread the work around and figure out this terrible backlog! Makes me want to give up hope that I'll ever be with my wife and child. :(

Laurel Scott just posted this on her FB (she is a very good immigration attorney) :

Just got confirmation at the conference that stand-alone I-130s (i.e. not with an I-485) stopped being sent to local USCIS offices several weeks ago. The local offices are trying to finish up their remaining stand-alone I-130s in the next few weeks.

Thanks for sharing this! She added:

They said NBC stopped sending cases to the local offices at the end of July, which is consistent with what we were told would happen when I went to the NBC meeting in May.

Bottom line: expect drastic and sudden drops in I-130 processing times. No need to go for the K3.

I predict that I-130s filed in August or later will see processing times of six months or less, which is more normal.

I'm going to keep watching this post :)

Laurel Scott just posted this on her FB (she is a very good immigration attorney) :

Laurel Scott Just got confirmation at the conference that stand-alone I-130s (i.e. not with an I-485) stopped being sent to local USCIS offices several weeks ago. The local offices are trying to finish up their remaining stand-alone I-130s in the next few weeks.

Bluberry thank you for always looking out for all of us and thank you for this news!!you are right there is light at the end of the tunnel!! :D

That is correct....I can confirm that. I called 2 days ago and I pressured the person based ont he information I get here. And he told me that the I-130 are not being transferred anymore. That the NBC just recently start processing it and approving. This is exactly what we have been reading..September 28th as the day when the new faciliy open and reviewing them.

I know we are all upset and everything. I know how it feels. But if we all just hang in there and just pray, approval can come really soon.
