Agreed, good luck to all of us. A wee update from USCIS with regard to Overland Park would be fantastic!!! Hopefully we shall soon see some approvals.

USCIS representative just told the petitioner that Overland Park has been open for the last two years and is processing I-130s as we speak. I'd laugh if it wasn't so sad.

IR1 took 520 days....

Ellinora, it has been open yes. It has also been processing the applications. However, their current processing was that they were simply taking the file and sticking it in the mail. At the end of the month a new division will open that will adjudicate the application at that office instead of just mailing it out

So does that mean that our petitions could have been already posted to a field office?

It just gets worse!

It's wrong. It started working early this year. http://www.bizjournals.com/kansascity/news/2012/11/13/us-citizenship-and-immigration.html?page=all

I know it's been open for a lil while, but the division 8, which handles I-130s, is not (estimated opening by the end of this month). But that it has been open for two years, well, that's news to me! USCIS.gov says it was opened April this year. Maybe I just can't count.

Ohh so this is why they told my husband that it's being processed in a centralized way. Lol.

I'm the beneficiary.

Want to know what's happening with your case? Here's the USCIS tracking page (get an account and see if the case's been 'touched'!). Don't get your hopes up though, some cases never even appear there despite being successfully processed.

Simeon, I have heard no such thing, until reading your post!

Initial thought was, 'NBC hasn't even begun functioning how could there be a 'shutdown?' It's already 'shutdown!' :P

I don't know how true that is, however, I have googled and come across a recent article posted 5 days ago. Here's the link for inquiring minds.

My stepmother-in-law in the US insisted on contacting her senator about our case. I didn't think it was going to help, but also didn't think it would hurt (she likes to feel like she's being helpful).

The senator's office forwarded USCIS's reply, which stated that they were currently processing I-130s from October 2012. I don't think that is any more believable than any of the other answers people have gotten, but wanted to throw it into the mix...

My attorney just sent our CR-1 package yesterday and it should arrive on Monday. We're so excited and nervous at the same time!

Did anyone else send theirs in this month?

I filed in May , still waiting on it. They said I have to wait. They are very slow.
