I agree. Not only that, but she also said that she was surprised that they even sent us the NOA1 to a foreign address! I'm starting to think that even Tier 2 has no idea what's going on sometimes. Anyway, ya gotta love these bureaucracies.

87 days ...

we (my husband and I) knew that it's gonna take long to get the visa. that's why he quit his job and moved to Poland, he works as an english teacher. maybe you should consider such step too, it's temporary and you don't need to live apart.

the only thing that makes me sad is that i have to wait for having a baby, until we're in US.

I put a expedite service request in through tier 2 yesterday due to upcoming hernia surgery. I'm suppose to hear something back by August 30th...fingers crossed but I know not to keep my hopes up too much for a response that fast. I am scheduled for surgery Nov 2nd and will need my husband here to take care of our son while I recover. I hope they approve it...I'm nervous smh

Those of us whose case got sent to Overland Park, KS, have you seen this document:

http://www.uscis.gov/USCIS/Outreach/Notes%20from%20Previous%20Engagements/2013/May%202013/NBC-AILA-QA-2013-05-01.pdf

Link was posted by n-oh-eh-to now on another thread here on VJ.

There are two parts that make me wonder.

"April 8, 2013- NBC opened its new office in Overland Park, Kansas, where Adjudications

Division 7 will process Form I-90 applications. A new division, Adjudications Division 8, also
will be located at the Overland Park, Kansas facility. NBC anticipates that Division 8 will begin
to adjudicate stand-alone immediate relative Form I-130 petitions by the end of Fiscal Year 2013."
Does this mean that our petitions have not been processed yet, since division 8 might only open by the end of September? The document is dated May 10th so at that time there were not processing I-130s at Overland Park at least. This makes me wonder if our petitions are just gathering just in Kansas, since division 8 is not even open yet.
Another part says
"What is the processing time expected to be for stand-alone I-130s filed by an overseas petitioner?
Response: The current processing time for stand-alone I-130s filed by an overseas petitioner is
approximately 60 days from the date of receipt at NBC"
This is certainly not true in our case. We filed overseas and it has been now over 90 days.
Please excuse me, if this was already discussed here, just made me wonder.

IR1 took 520 days....

Husband made another (useless) call to USCIS today and this time they told him they are processing January. He was told he has to wait at least another 3 months.

No word yet here either and if I understood correctly from the document I linked above, NBC Overland Park will not start processing I-130s until the end of September. So those of us, whose case got sent to Overland Park, KS, we won't hear anything earlier than that as our cases are not being processed.

I don't understand why they sent our case to Overland Park already in May, if they are not even processing I-130s there until end of September.

IR1 took 520 days....

This might be a silly question but how did you know the NBC location your files were sent to was Overland, KS rather than the Missouri location.

We're still early in the process, just received the 797 last week. It says our I-130 is at NBC.

Thanks!

Just got my I-797 hard copy. The address on the envelope and I-797 states "National Benefits Center, Overland Park, KS", but the postmark is from Chicago. It seems that the I-130 workload is shifting to the Kansas location. They just need to start processing petitions. See this thread:

Uscis has posted the june 2013 data point.

http://dashboard.uscis.gov/index.cfm?formtype=4&office=22&charttype=1

Total applications for i-130 299, 942

Total applications processed 29, 484

Giving us a lovely average of 10 month wait.

It really looks like they are getting hammered so hard and I really am quite skeptical how that new processing unit for I-130s is going to help chop down over 300k applications when they already have countless local field offices working to process these applications. I would like to be with my wife sometime this decade. :-X

You I've been reading that on the uscis website all morning but don't understand it or maybe its just that I don't want to believe its that many......... So the 300k is the national trend right? so that's divided for all the field offices ? help me to understand it plz,,,,,......

Right the 300k is the total number of I-130 petitions. From there you can click on the different field offices (if your case has been transferred to a local field office) to check the processing time there. The national benefits center does not have one so there is no data for applications there. Everyone's hope is that when they finally open this new I-130 processing wing they will start processing these applications at a much faster rate.
