this is soooooooo frustrating ! I CANT BELIEVE ITS TAKING SO LONG FOR AN APPROVAL! This is unbelievable..... and not fair. .. well i called uscis after i didnt get a response 15 days after a service request.... sooooo the lady put in an expedite request for me... and this is the response i got............. .........i wonder how long this will take now.... 10 months and 22 days...... and still no approval.

The status of this service request is:

On 03/26/2014, you or your representative contacted USCIS concerning your I-130 to notify us that you believe your case is outside of our normal processing time. Below is a summary of what we found and how the issue has been or may be resolved.

We have placed your case on a processing hold because the required security checks remain pending. Until we receive the results of these security checks, we cannot move forward on your case. We require the results of security checks before we make a decision on any pending case.

We cannot predict when we will receive the results of these security checks. Please be assured that we will make every effort to make a decision in your case as soon as the security checks are complete.

We hope this information is helpful to you.

I sent the emails to them

Lori.Scialabba@dhs.gov

donald.w.neufeld@uscis.dhs.gov

Rendell.jones@dhs.gov

Noticed in Mr. Rendell, the first email I sent, he replied to me "I will follow up in your inquiry". When I received a response from Senator tell me that my case pending for background check clearance and have to wait 30 days. In the next day, I emailed to Mr. Rendell again. I told him I was confused and frustrated because so many petitions filed in Sep 2013 and some in Oct 2013 has been approved. My case filed in May, 4-5 months before them but still pending just for a reason "background check clearance" ......And you know what happen? Very next day, my case status changed "Your name updated...."that is yesterday, approved today

I dont know those people listed above who would help, because I emailed to all of them. I think Mr. Rendell helped me. Back to April filers thread, LoveMyTiCo said she sent an email to Mr. Rendell and her case approved on the same day at 10:30 PM

In the email, just tell them your situation, they dont have time to read your whole story. Just focus on Date, Processing time at service center, you believed your case was outside of normal processing times...

Good luck and hope to see you in NVC April 2014 Filers

The background checks, security checks... are the reasons they created by themself to hold your case cuz they dont have any other reasons, I think. You need to email them as I mentioned above. Let see what I got from them few days ago.

USCIS records show your I-130 petition was received at the National Benefits Center (NBC) on May 16, 2013 and transferred to the Nebraska Service Center (NSC) on December 11, 201

USCIS records indicate that, following an initial review of your I-130 case by an officer at NSC, an extended review of this case was initiated. USCIS records confirm that your I-130 case is pending background check clearance. USCIS is committed to adjudicating immigration benefits in a timely and efficient manner while also ensuring public safety, national security, and compliance with all relevant directives. Please note that some applications and petitions have unresolved background check issues which delay adjudication. Although USCIS makes every effort to resolve such cases promptly, USCIS is unable to speculate when the background check process will be completed in your case.

If a USCIS decision or other notice of action pertaining to your I-130 case is not received within approximately 60 days from the date of this E-mail message, you may send us another inquiry regarding the adjudication of this petition.

The National Customer Service Centers toll free number is 1 800 375 5283 or you may access the CIS web site at www.uscis.gov should you have any further questions or need additional information.
