We filed our I-130's on May 22, 2013. My wife's went to the California Service Center (CSC) and my son's was sent to the National Benefits Center (NBC). My wife's was petition (I-130) approved on July 23, 2013. Did a service request to, through a tier 2 officer on July 26, 2013 asking that my son's petition be expedited to bring his in synch with my wife's. Tier 2 officer said to check back on August 10 on status.of the expedite request (which the tier 2 said shouldn't be a problem) so keeping my fingers crossed.

That is really really fast. Was your petition expedited or did you have another reason why it went so fast?

Hi guys,

Fellow May filer here. Just thought I would update you as we wrote to our congressman's immigration aide about the near-complete inaction at NBC (other than processing filers from abroad) and how unfair it was that 1-129F fiancee approvals were flying out of the other service centers in the meantime.

The aide wrote back to say they had hired new adjudicators at NBC. That was all my husband said she said. So I guess they really are just holding all of the files in an ever increasing pile while they slowly get themselves ready to actually do some work on them. Eventually.

I think a similar thing happened at CSC earlier this year with fiancee visas, and as we have seen, the files did move quickly once the adjudicators started working on them.

Fingers crossed they finish their training soon!!!

Elisabeth,

I don't know how we got approved so fast; it was just a routine filing with no expedite request. However, being approved so fast can be a curse as much as a blessing because now we are waiting for my minor son's to be approved so that he can go through the process with my wife. We have made an expedite request on his and are scheduled to clal them next week to chack the status of that request.

Hi everyone,

I've decided to join this thread because I'm getting a bit nervous. Husband (USC) is supposed to start new job in his hometown in the US on Jan 1, and we were hoping to spend the holidays with his family.

We have been permanent residents of New Zealand for the past 5 years (I'm a German citizen), and we have two kids who were born here but have dual US/NZ citizenship. We filed our I130 from abroad, with a NOA1 date of May 12, though our cover letter didn't mention why we were applying for a green card for me at this particular time (this may have been a stupid mistake). I was encouraged by the reports of expedited processing for applications filed from abroad, but I guess that's not happening anymore.

I'm not liking the prospect of having to stay behind with our two kids when my husband starts his job, although I know that many on here have been separated from their SOs for a while.

I'm sorry, but I have to agree. I think the likeliness you are able to go with your husband to the USA in January is pretty low. I thought we could move to the USA in January, but I don't think that'll be possible anymore.

Best wishes!!

I have given up hope on my husband coming this year. After speaking to USCIS, all they tell me is the steps and the process time. It doesn't look too positive at all. And now all I can say is just try to live a normal life (even though it's hard) and expect that my husband won't be coming here this year and will be missing our daughter's 1 year old.

apologize if this was already posted, but I saw this on the uscis website that pretty much confirms the workload transfer, and that some of us might receive a new case number if our file is transferred.

For any one that does recieve a new notice, please let us know if any new information is provided in regards to an updated timeline, or whatnot.

I haven't recieved anything, but this posting was made on the 8th.

Edit: wait, just saw that it says "US residents." I wonder if this means anything for the Citizens

It's for F2A filers -- permanent residents petitioning for spouses and children. USC petitioners aren't affected.

Hi everyone,

This is my first post. My wife is the petitioner. We have a May 17th priority date. We have filed from abroad. (Canada) Today, my wife called USCIS and was told the wait to speak with a Tier 2 person is 220 minutes! So we opted for the call back option. We got a call back after about 3 hours and the Tier 2 person was less than helpful! The lady told us that our file would be transfered to a local field office. Told her we were in Toronto, Canada, but she insisted that our file would be transfered to a local office closest to Toronto. When asked what office that would be, she said she didn't know! Whaaa? I suggested to her that maybe our file would stay at NBC, but she said that if it stays, it will be processed there at the 5th month. We were advised to call again every month. We were also given a 4-6 months timeline before getting approved. Now I know that everyone is saying something different, and that there seems to be a lot of waiting and confusion, but I am simply stating what the Tier 2 person said to us. We've been waiting for 89 days. We aren't in a huge rush, but it's hard to make future plans around this.

Good luck to everyone.

Hello Everyone.

On Friday I called the USCIS number 800 -375- 5283 and after many attempts I was finally able to speak to someone. But it was not helpful at all. At first the representative told me that my file was at the National Benefits Center in Lee Summits Missouri. I asked him if this was new information since the only letter I have received is the form I-797C and my file was sent to the National Benefits Center in Overland Park. So he asked if he could put me on hold, and when he came back he apologized because he made a n assumption regarding where my file was sent to. (Obviously I did not like that, since it gave me the impression that he was really not looking into my file). So I asked him if he sees that anyone has taken a look at my file and he said no. He can only see the same information I see online. He then told me that he spoke to his supervisor when he put me on hold and he was told that there is a high volume of petitions and the estimated time is a minimum of 6 months and the only advice he could give me was to wait. He really was not helpful at all.sad.png

We have the same priority date so I know how frustrating it is. You got a jerk on the phone. If I were you, I would call back. I call atleast once a week or so.
