I-797 notice of action




The above petition has been approved . We have sent the original visa petition to the Department of State National Visas Center(NVC) .32 Rochester Avenue , Portsmouth,NH 03801-2909 . NVC processes all approved immigrant visa petitions that need consular action .It also determines which consular post is the appropriate consular to complete visa processing. NVC will then forward the approved petition to that consulate .



The NVC will contact the person for whom you are petitioning concerning further immigrant visa processing steps .




YOU should allow a minimum of 30 days for Department of State processing before contacting the NVC .

Just an FYI: the 60-day period start the day the service center receives the application: date of the third text/email.

You should not count from the date on the letter or the date of the first text/email.

I was transferred on 02-Jan-2014, but NBSC received my applications on 06-Jan-2014. My 60-day starts on 06-Jan-2014.

Are you really sure about this? Untill now I thought m transfer date was Dec 4th 2013 because that's the date on my transfer letter...... However I my third transfer email was dated Dec 5th 2013..... So what's my actual transfer date now? Should I go with the date on the letter or the date of my third email? God! Anything and everything about USCIS sucks big time!!!

same happened with me, so go with Dec. 5.....I hope we will get approval next week ..idea9dv.gif

Hey guys,

This morning (a Saturday of all days) we got an email saying that we now have been assigned a case officer! We're already over our 60 day mark and now we have to wait up to 30 days for a decision. As we have our Senator is involved we hope this will be speedy.

Has anyone else had this message? How long have people been waiting for a decision?

how many people that were transferred to Nebraska December 4th were approved by now i didn't receive anything yet my god i am frustrated

So sorry that you have this long wait.

Remember you can look at the monthly transfer spreadsheets to get a good sense of other's dates and whether they have their NOA2 yet:

2013: July 20: I-130 sent (Chicago lockbox)

July 24: I-130 NOA1

July 24: I-129F sent (Dallas Lockbox)

Aug 2: I-129F NOA1

Aug 12: Alien Registration Number was changed, I-129F.

2014: Jan 28/29/30: - 3 transfer notices for I-130 and I-129F.

Feb 3 - Hard copy arrived -Notice of transfer to Texas stating Jan 29th.

Feb 10 - NOA2

Feb 27 - email stating I-130 being sent to NVC from TSC.

March 6 -NVC received our case.

April 7 - CASE NUMBER yay! IIN and BIN obtained and email given.

April 9 - DS261 available and filled in online.

April 9 - AOS not yet payable but visible.

April 10 - email regarding NVC case number and access to DS261 received/ email regarding AOS received and paid.

April 11 - AOS sent by snail mail.

April 14 - AOS arrived per mail tracking.

April 15 - IV bill received via email, IV bill paid/ in process, IV package sent.

April 18 - IV bill showing paid/ DS-260 available and done!

- AOS scanned into their system.
