How do you find out that the file has been touched online???

go to uscis.gov and you can enter your case number in the top left corner. if your case has been touched at all, the last action that occurred will show in the update.

I contacted the USCIS office on friday, they haven't transferred my case yet, so i am praying that means that it will be processed in the NVC and they aren't using my application as a seat for another month before transferring. ranting33va.gif

Aw man really? I've been debating whether or not I should call USCIS to see if my wife's case has been transferred yet.

Has anyone's case been transferred to a Local Field Office yet?

The uscis.gov site is not accurate woth when the file was last touched. I called and the dates they gave me never showed on the site. The only date that shows is the same as when they first received it. I think the dates do not change unless a major change happened to the file such as address, approval.

Uscis is saying the nbc will be processing stand alone i130s now. Since August 2012 up until February they were transferring to local offices but now they are Only being transferred if interview is requested. They started this in February and that may be why approvals been slow.

"So they say" lol

Actually, there was a jurisdiction method to whether your case went to CSC, VSC, etc. They list the states where each lockbox/service center has jurisdiction, but that's irrelevant nowadays. Since August 15th, 2012, ALL petitions are sent to NBC, where they usually sit for about two months before getting shipped out to their local offices according to the address listed on the I-130. If the USC is abroad and the address is thus foreign, the case stays at NBC for processing.

Mucha suerte!!

Good luck! It's better if you save copies of everything you send in, and also try to get together as much evidence as possible starting now! The consulate in Guayaquil really focuses on relationship evidence, so it's better to have an abundance.

Also, you can only speak a foreign language in the regional forums, so next time if you want to speak to someone in Spanish include a translations, please. happy.png

I checked my profile of past posts and couldn't find it so I attached it. It is from uscis.gov questions and answerd.

Thanks for the file! It's just a little confusing now: if they were processing all petitions inhouse without field offices, why would field offices report getting those numbers of I-130 that they are reporting even for april and may this year?

I'm the beneficiary.

It may be because NBC isn't fully staffed yet. The document says that NBC will handle all standalone I-130's as soon as it is fully staffed.
