Hey guys, first post but need to do some venting. Over 9 months since we got married, then filed first week of May. Only update we've had is on Dec 5th that we'd been sent to Nebraska. My wife called today and still nothing, we haven't even been assigned an immigration officer.... 250 days(ish) of been in a pile of paperwork. The USCIS don't give two hoots and don't want to assist in anyway.

Would anyone have any positive news?

Try emailing them at the service center directly: NSCFollowup.NCSC@uscis.dhs.gov. You're coming up on 60 days since transfer, it's a good time to be pushing for information. In a letter to stakeholders last November USCIS claimed that they "will take action within 60 days of the transfer date listed in your notice." It's not much to go on and people have had mixed success but it's worth a shot. Have you tried making inquiries through a senator's or congressman's office?

Does anyone know how much time the case would take in National Visa Center after being approved in USCIS ?

NVC stage will take about 3 to 5 months, estimate.

Sorry what does that mean, I thought after you are approved it's just doing the interview ( in my wife's case in the us embassy in china). Are you saying there is ANOTHER 3-5 months wait....after the 8+ months we already waited??

After you get the approval from USCIS, you will wait until your case arrives in NVC. Once your case arrives in NVC, NVC will ask you to wait 10 to 20 business days for a case number. 20 business days for me sums like almost a month waiting there again, of course, the holidays and weekends. After getting your case number, you will be asked to submit and pay AOS and IV fee which is let's say would take about 2 weeks to complete because even if you want to pay, you have to wait for invoice. After sending all the needed documents, tax returns, I-864 and other things, there is another 6 to 8 weeks until NVC tells you "case complete." After case complete, NVC will send it to US embassy in China and then after that they will tell you when is your interview. Some people who are expedited or those that do DCF will be faster maybe 1 month total but in general, after USCIS stage, NVC stage is 3 to 5 months. If you want to check, you can click on other people's profile/timeline from china with IR/CR-1 visa too, so you can have a better idea. Goodluck!
