On May 9, 2013, we mailed a notice to you reaffirming the approval of this case and returned the case to the Department of State for visa processing. For more information, please contact them directly.

We had an RFE April 29th and sent them back the additional evidence the next day. Now, I am cofused with what my status said

I've never seen that phrasing before, but USCIS doesn't grant visa's, they just approve the application to apply for them, so if they did send your details to the State Department for "visa processing" then they must have approved you thus far

" Reaffirming the Approval " and sending it to department of state is generally the statement sent when you have been denied at the interview and your case was sent back for review. On review and being re-approved, they reaffirm the approval and send it back up the chain for either another embassy/consul interview or visas issuance.

If you had an RFE and that was all you had, not sure why you got this as your update.

Odd that they would put that message in at this point if they hadn't even received the NOA2 yet. Sounds like maybe something was inputted improperly. Hopefully they'll get a hard copy soon and update this so we have a better understanding of what might have happened.

I guess all we have to do is wait for the hard copy of NOA2. If no letter until next week, I think it is just right to call and bug USCiS. Thank you everyone

Hang in there, you are almost there, in spite of your RFE.

From your timeline:

"Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated between May 19, 2013 and June 6, 2013* (RFEs at the California Service Center typically add an extra 14 days, which has been added to the estimated processing time).

If this date range has passed or your application is past due per USCIS processing timesthen you should consider calling the USCIS to inquire on your petition."
