I'm naming all of the attachments to my DS-230 and I-864 emails as follows:

1. GZOxxxxxxxxxx DS-230 Cover sheet

2. GZOxxxxxxxxxx DS-230

3. GZOxxxxxxxxxx Packet 3 Supplemental

4. GZOxxxxxxxxxx Passport bio page

5. GZOxxxxxxxxxx Guide to evidence

6. GZOxxxxxxxxxx Evidence - New photos

7. GZOxxxxxxxxxx Evidence - New trips to China

8. GZOxxxxxxxxxx Evidence - . . . .

and so on. (similar for I-864)

I'm not adding headers/footers to the pages within the PDF attachments. Total size for DS-230 is about 14 MB (is that too large?) For I-864, much smaller.

Do you think this is sufficient to avoid losing documents?

Thanks!

shira, correct. I note I sent the page from the nvc web site about no need for photos for this visa type and country and EP.

Still, in the end, I got a checklist letter response about it, but it clearly stated to bring the passport photos to the interview.

logically, makes no sense to me, as it's clearly listed as 'not required' in the web site. then to get a checklist letter response about it? just torqued me, to no end.

And my question about organizing my IV and AOS emails as a set of attachments, each named with GZOxxxxxxxx + what the attachment is?

I know that you used that cloud-based edit program (can't remember the name) to add headers to some of the PDFs, but I can't get that program to work properly for me (the SAVE button is grayed out). So I was going with just attachment names (plus a list of all of the attachment names in the email body). Is the NVC likely to misplace/lose attached documents?

Darnell,

Not sure if you got any update, but I did verified my case is still pending to be sent to GZ. I called NVC today and was told that we are waiting for the interview date. Not sure when this is going to be sent, but as of right now my case completion date is 7/3/2013. So if I understand this correctly, this is still at NVC and definitly not start with GZ atm.......

btw, I mean by case pending = case completed now (7/3) and is in list to be sent to GZ......

ya, case complete date of 7/3 for you.

I note J Zhang left a crumb today, noting he's got an interview date of 8/27. Unsure if this was P4 for today or if he did something else to get the date

you can study his timeline at

I don't think NVC will lose anything submitted with an EP submittal, but ya never know.

I used similar file naming conventions, IIRC.

Oh, and one more thing:

What should the subject line of the DS-230 email be? The I-864 email?

I was thinking:

GZO2013xxxxxx - DS-230 package

and

GZO2013xxxxxx - I-864 package

Or should I put something in addition (for example, my wife's name and DOB)?

Thanks, Darnell.

Very good. However, "AOS" is ambiguous, so I'll probably use "I-864 GZOxxxxxxxxx"
